This collapsing picnic basket turned out to be exactly what we needed for days on the water. We’re always trying to pack snacks in a way that keeps everything intact, and this basket strikes a great balance: the hard sides protect chips, fruit, crackers, and other snacks from getting crushed, but when we’re done using it, it folds completely flat so it barely takes up any storage space on the boat. One of my favorite features is the small compartment on the lid. As shown in my photo, it’s the perfect spot to safely tuck a knife for fruit, cheese, or small charcuterie-style snacks. We’ve never had a good place to store a knife that keeps it contained and easy to grab when needed, so this little detail is more useful than I expected. The only part I didn’t love is the lid’s ability to transform into a mini table. It’s a clever idea in theory, but the legs feel unnecessary for how we use the basket, and they tend to get in the way more than they help.
