I got this picture hanging tool for hanging frames by myself and getting them straight without a lot of measuring, and it has worked extremely well. In fact, I would say it’s a game changer. You can hang a framed picture of almost any type exactly where you want it and exactly level in just a few minutes with this device. I’m really glad I came across it and will be using it to hang every picture from now on. The tool I received is blue and about 12 inches long, which makes it easy to line up both small and medium frames. The handiest, and easiest, picture hanging tool I've ever used.
It took a while fiddling around with this to understand how to use it right, but after finally figuring out the different picture 'hanger' options that this helps with, it is amazingly easy to accurately locate the proper position on the wall where your picture hanger needs to go. I've always had trouble with pictures that have two fixed hanger loops in the back, (see image). In the past I was using a tape measure to figure out where the wall hooks go. This tool has magnetic pins that you put into the hangers on the back of the picture, tape them in place, and then position your picture where you want it. A gentle push and they leave tiny pin holes in the wall where you need to install your hook. The removable level goes on the top of the frame to help you keep the picture level. The other 'hanging helper' feature, that I loved, lets you easily mark where a picture hook needs to go when the picture has a wire. You 'hang' your picture on the built in hook, (or hooks), then hold the whole assembly on the wall to position your picture. Once you've got it positioned, just hold the tool in place against the wall, unhook the picture from the hook, and, while still holding the tool in place, a gentle push on the hook the picture was hanging on, leaves a tiny pinhole in the wall. It was so easy to accurately determine where you need to install your picture hooks, I will never go back to tape measure and pencil. Fantastic addition to any handyman's tool list.

After handing a gallery wall with my husband, I looked for something else to use if we ever have to hang up pictures together again, lol. We used to much painters tape, random holes in the wall, levels, and multiple “hacks” I read about to try. Since I was using thrifted frames, they all had different hangers on the back. Ugh. This has all the tools to hang different types of frames in one kit. It’s a bit cheap feeling, but not as cheap as using tape or random stuff around the house! I brought it into work since the office manager had a few photos to frame and let her borrow it, she was confused at first until I showed her the video. It would be nice if it was a bit cleaner somehow with info on it on how to use it, but that’s a minor quibble. Not at all looking forward to ever doing a gallery wall again, but this has come in handy for hanging random frames so I’m sure it would be good in a few years when we forget how annoying they are to do and decide to try something new!

I worked for us.
This kit allowed me (by myself) to hang a 48” wide painting. After hanging, I checked if the painting was level with a 48” level and it was within a 1/16” of being perfect. Job well done.
