High performance at a low price!
I noticed that an artist I follow used one of these to great effect and was amazed when I found them here and that this pen is one of the lowest priced fountain pens I’ve seen! This pen is very simple in its design and very lightweight. You’d almost think it’s a disposable, but it’s actually refillable and a really great pen. The model I’m reviewing is the extra fine “02” pen. The nib is perfect for drawing, I prefer a slightly thicker line for writing, but this pen is so nice to use that if I only had one pen for an everyday carry, this would be (and is) it. Despite this being super inexpensive, the manufacturing quality is excellent. The line quality is also excellent and this nib is fine enough to write on more absorptive paper prone to bleed-through. The ink cartridge is simple to replace and this fountain pen is as quick and easy to use as any modern Gel, felt-tip, Ball or Ballpoint pen one would use in the course of daily life. Throw it in a drawer for a few months, pull it out and it will immediately begin to write without any coaxing. The cap has a spring loaded air-tight seal and the nib will not dry out; apparently, even after a year. This is a pen anyone would enjoy using and if it turned out that it just wasn’t a good fit for you, this $7 pen would be a super cool gift to give to a friend or coworker. Two things to be aware of: 1) The pen is essentially a lightweight plastic tube. If you had it in a back pocket and sat on it, or are prone to dropping pens on hard flooring, this pen or its cap could break. 2) The barrel of the pen, cap and grip area are all completely round. This will be a plus for many people, but I personally tend to “roll” the pen over time and have to re-adjust my grip with a perfectly round pen. A very, very minor issue that likely won’t bother most people.

First time trying a fountain pen
This pen arrived in less than 24 hours. It’s my first time using a fountain pen but I wanted to try some new pens with my new hobinichi techo. It works better than expected. It has the look of a micron 005 but the consistency, weight, balance, and flow is something I didn’t really imagine in a writing utensil before. The fact that it writes smoother and crisper than a felt tip but doesn’t wear down and become useless after three uses is wonderful. I expected scratchiness or unevenness. I expected pooling and skipping but it honestly feels luxurious. The grip on the pen is light and easy and consistent and feels ergonomic because of how the ink flows. It’s going to make writing in my journal so much fun.

Love these pens!!
Love these pens!! Super super affordable and write so well and hold ink forever, especially once made into a dropper!! Awesome fountain pens to have for everyday stuff or o give to a friend that is thinking about getting into using fountain pens. Even though theyre plastic, they are solid! So easy to use, comfortable grip and lightweight. They special lid keeps the tip extra sealed up so it doesn't dry out like others. So they just work when you need them to work, without a hassle. Great pens!!
