razer x my melody gaming headset with chroma rgb, comfy fabric cushions and solid surround sound
I’m already familiar with the Razer Kraken line, so when I saw the My Melody edition I immediately grabbed it. I’m a huge Sanrio fan and My Melody is one of my favorites, so this collaboration is basically the perfect combination of cute aesthetics and a headset I already know I like. The design is absolutely adorable. The headset is pink with My Melody details, and even the inside of the ear cups has a floral print. It still keeps the classic Razer look though, with the Razer logo on the top band and the outer ear cups. If you’re a girl gamer or know someone who loves Sanrio, this would make a fantastic gift. The packaging itself also feels very premium. Everything from the box design to the printed materials feels thoughtfully done. Even the instructions are printed on matte black paper with silver ink, which gives the whole unboxing experience that high end Razer feel. Comfort is one of the biggest reasons I like the Kraken series, and this version keeps that same design. The ear cushions use a hybrid fabric and leatherette memory foam, so they’re soft and breathable instead of the fully rubber style pads that can make your ears feel hot during long sessions. They stay comfortable for extended use and don’t make your ears feel sweaty. The sound quality is solid and clear. It includes 7.1 surround sound and does a good job creating spatial audio for gaming. It may not compete with the absolute highest end audiophile headsets, but for most gamers it sounds great. As a casual gamer, I was very happy with it. The headset also isolates a good amount of background noise, even though it isn’t fully noise cancelling. Voices and game audio come through clearly, and the microphone works well with no crackling or distortion. I also like that the mic can be tucked away when you’re not using it. Another nice feature is the multi platform compatibility. The cable includes a USB type A connector with a removable adapter that reveals USB type C underneath, so it works with PC, Mac, PS5, and Switch. The Razer Chroma RGB lighting is also here, which you can customize through the software if you want to match your setup. Overall, if you already like the Razer Kraken headset, this is exactly what you’d expect but in a really fun My Melody design. It’s comfortable, sounds good, and looks fantastic on a gaming setup. For Sanrio fans or casual gamers who want a cute but capable headset, this collaboration is a great pick.

Amazing quality
I have struggled to find a good headset and have tried several different brands over the years. I did a lot of research on headsets and had considered the Razer Kraken but was nervous to give them a try after so many others not working out for me in the past. I’m SO glad I decided to take a chance on these. First, they are so comfortable. Other headphones start to hurt my head and ears after 30 minutes of use, but I spent hours on calls today and they NEVER became uncomfortable. I like that the ear pieces and top cushion is covered with a mesh like fabric that won’t wear down or flake off over time. With my old headphones I used to always accidentally hit the mute button and not realize it but I love how on the mic on these headphones has a red light when it mutes and gives an audio cue that your mic is muted. The sound quality is great and I’m really happy with them. Even though the price point is maybe a little higher than I’d normally want to pay on headphones I can honestly say these are worth it and I’ve spent way more than that on all the previous headphones I’ve tried but didn’t like over the years.

Adorable Gaming Performance
The Razer Kraken v4 (My Melody edition) manages to combine adorable with performance at an impressive price point. First and foremost - sound. This is a great gaming headset, as one would expect from Razer. The 40 mm drivers deliver immersive sound with wide dynamics and precise details without being muddy or fatiguing. Combine them with the software-based 7.1 surround sound (login required), and you get even better locational accuracy (I was particularly impressed when sneaking around in Indiana Jones and The Great Circle). Music is less impressive - bass lacks some oomph, and the sound stage felt a little flat - but that’s not what I got these for. Build quality is also great. The headset is lightweight but solidly constructed, the colorways are perfect for the My Melody collaboration - the flower details inside the earcups are a particularly nice touch. The RGB lighting a appear in the Razer logos on each earcup, and can be controlled both through the Razer app and via Windows (admittedly with less precision). AND they’re cute. What’s not to love?

Great sound + super clean design for casual gaming
Picked this up for my girlfriend as she’s getting into gaming, and she absolutely loves the look. The My Melody design is really well done and doesn’t feel cheap at all. The pink color, details, and RGB give it a fun vibe while still keeping that classic Razer feel. Audio quality is solid too. The 40mm drivers and 7.1 surround sound make a noticeable difference in games, and the mic sounds clear when we’re playing together. It’s also super comfortable with the memory foam cushions, even during longer sessions. The wired setup makes it easy to just plug in and use on different devices without dealing with connection issues. If you want something that looks great and still performs like a proper gaming headset, this is a really nice addition to the Kraken lineup.
