Not 100% what I was expecting, but not at all a disappointment
I bought this as a thank-you gift for a relative for her help with my wedding. It is gorgeous and was very well-received. I did not realize when I ordered it that there is a black stripe down the back (the side you hold it on). In the photo, it looks like there is merely a shadow there, but it's actually a stripe of black glass the whole length of the decanter. Also, the heart shape is not actually a hole; it's more of a window. There is an indentation and you can easily use the indentation as a handle, but your fingers don't go all the way through. Also, on the one I received, the heart was in the center, rather than being off to the side as pictured. I would have bought it just the same if I had known all of those things, but as they were unexpected I thought I would mention them.

This is a fantastic gift for engagements; weddings; etc. It is a beautiful piece when you see it in person and adds a little something extra as it is different from a lot of decanters people purchase as gifts. I think it is a great touch and something you do not see often. If you are looking for a great gift off registry, this is definitely something to look into.

It's the best carafe on the market.
It's the best and only the best for handling and pouring wine. Others are much cheaper and for a reason too, theirs just doesn't match up with the ease and convenience of using this carafe. It's comfortable with just one hand rather then its counterparts which more often takes 2 hands. There is no comparison in my opinion.
