It cleans especially well. This means the one disposable dust bag it comes with will fill up quickly so immediately buy dust bin bags-you will need them fast. Be sure you get the RoboRock app to set it up with. Setup is easy and essential using the app. Alexa or Google integration is a breeze. It is fairly quiet on balanced suction mode, and not really so loud on turbo. You MUST manually empty the dust bin in the Q5+ if it fills during cleaning and that is a real possibility if you have a lot of square feet. It will dock due to low battery or being full and upon docking it will empty by itself. However if during its cleaning cycle, it gets full, it will not sense this nor return to dock to empty. You MUST empty the dust bin-easy enough to do using the app. Dust bin contents are sucked into the dust bin back when docked and you manually choose empty dust bin. You have to let it run and do its thing. The best thing: set room mapping up and let it run around to map your floor. Then it will clean. Doing mapping first is easy and fast. You have to save maps of rooms/floors by setting save on-you toggle it to "on" and then you map. You can set up tasks meaning you can have it clean one room then go back to dock to empty and this is a good thing because it most likely will not overfill from one room and you need not manually empty it. Create three or four tasks and with each completed task, it will go back to dock and empty. If you do not do tasks, and you try to clean 1200 square feet, it WILL fill up and you MUST intervene and tell it to go back to dock to empty it. I run it 2x a day for 1200 feet and no matter what I do, it fills up before it is done cleaning. I have no idea where it comes from but the bin gets full about half way through. There is no way to get around this. This device picks up ever-so-fine dust, and dirt-better than with a vacuum. The big clumps of hair if you have dogs...not so much but these are visible and easily picked up after the device has left them behind during its runs. It just cleans and cleans! Let me go back to cleaning. It does this well. I am surprised how much small stuff it picks up. It picks up dog hair, etc. well. It seems to pick up dirt I cannot even see or notice. With a full charge, you may get 1200 square feet; I do with about 15% battery left. If not, it will go back to charge on the dock when it gets to 19% low. My plan: let it work using tasks (you can set a room or floor schedule) and let it charge and by the morning, empty the dust bin by using that option via the app, and let it clean again a floor where you do not have activity or where people are not at home or around (bedrooms for example). I say work it; run it daily. I have a good vac; I vacuumed Wed, and it is Sun and it is shocking to see what it has been picking up in the dust bin. If you have a dog or cat, this is the move. I am not saying it will pick up long hair but the short hair and dander, yes it 100% will. It cleans under the beds (yay!) and under furniture where it fits. It is not an industrial vac. It most likely won't and should not be used to pick up wood chips, etc. around a wood stove, nor should it be used to pick up large particulate matter. It does pick up coins without any noise or damage so that it great if you miss a coin on the carpet or floor. I can use Alexa ("Alexa, tell Roborock to empty the dust bin" or "Alexa, tell Roborock to start cleaning" or "Alexa, tell Roborock to dock") for basic commands. If you have a spill, you will have to experiment to get the unit to clean it up; it looks like if you press the home button on the device, it cleans within a 10-foot radius. It will just try to clean in rows so you will just have to try it out for spot cleaning. It may be a pain to get it to do that. I can't imagine people with pets not having this or one of the Roomba pet hair cleaning units. This is going to save me so much work. I am not getting any younger. I thought "Why deny myself technology?" so I got it on sale. I highly recommend meaning for me it matched my expectations and needs and easily so. One last thing: the roller will clog with wrap-around hair. It is easy to take out and clean BUT you MUST put the roller brush cover on exactly meaning there are four tabs and two go in manually at a bit of an angle and the other side of the roller brush cover has two clips that go back into place when you pinch them. IF you see any of the four tabs, you do not have it in place correctly. This shows up when you try to empty the unit. It will not empty. You will hear it try but it will not because the suction is too low because the roller brush cover is not completely installed/inserted. You may find the unit telling you you are attempting too many empty commands and it will ignore your commands to empty the dust bin if you find you had the roller brush cover on loosely. The way around this is to take out the dust bin and with a flashlight locate the reset hole (use a pin). It is well-hidden. When you find it, put in the button while also holding the home or power button. This resets the device. You have to readd your unit to wifi (not 5 but 2.4) and be sure your phone's wifi for this is on the 2.4 band. Reattach the unit to your 2.4 wifi and you will be good to go. The unit will start recognizing the empty command and with the roller brush cover on correctly (no tabs showing), you will see the unit empty its dust bin. All maps, etc. are saved in the app. Only the unit gets reset. The bags are really easy to change. I filled that "7-week" bag in a week. That is how good the unit is. I have run it 3x a day and I still pick up dirt. I have no idea how or why but I do breathe easier now without any decongestants, and the house is clean! Any vacuum clogs and needs cleaning. This unit is no different. It is maintenance. After a week or so, you get the hang of it. I did not get the combo mop unit because I can do that with another machine. I wanted a dust bin that was 100% for dirt pickup. It works. It works well. I am getting another for the second floor with carpet and with carpet, the unit senses this and goes into turbo mode to clean. For hardwood, it does not have to do that. There are four speeds. Night is quietest. Balanced is good. I like that setting. The wrap-up: run this a couple of times a day (why not?) and pause your cleaning via the app after 30 minutes or so to return it to dock and empty. Or use tasks. No one is going to get 1200 square feet cleaned in one pass without emptying. That is a good thing. This device picks up! For real!

Amazing cleaning partner!! Love!

This is my first robot vacuum and I'm in love with it! I love being able to be doing something else, folding laundry, making dinner etc while this is cleaning the floors. Harry, as I've named him, is my cleaning partner. While it by no means replaces the suction on a standard push vacuum It's great at those between cleanings to keep things picked up. We have a dog with long white hair and a cat so hair clean up is always an issue and I'm very ocd about my house being clean. The suction doesn't leave my thick carpet hair free by any means but it's a great help to keep up with it. I read a lot of reviews before buying so wanted to share my experience after having this about two months now and using several times a week. I vacuum the house during the week with Harry and he mops my hard floors on the weekend...and I do a stand up vacuuming with my big vac on the weekend. I hope this helps you! Here are some of my thoughts on how this thing "Harry" works: MOPPING. This feature is amazing!!! And one of the few robo vacs with the option. I love being able to put a little cleaner and water in the bin and let it do its thing. This model doesn't have the ability to map rooms you want it to clean in (if your carpet butts up to hard floors) but I found an easy solution. As my bar stools and garbage cans need to be moved so Harry can mop everything I just use them to block off my great room so it stays on the hard floors. Leaves my floors pretty dang clean and smelling good, while I do other things! You can also buy magnetic tape to block room's but I don't see the need with my blocking technique, and I just close the doors to my carpeted bedrooms. Wet the pad on the bottom before starting to help get it going, the water in the container slowly seeps out so getting the pad wet ensures its starts mopping right away. Will need to refill water bin about every 30 min. I use a little fresh scent pine sol then fill rest with water. SUCTION. The suction is great on hard floors gets everything up. The side sweeper is great against walls and cabinets. I have thick carpet so didn't expect it to suck everything up but it does a great job. Still leaves my dogs hair behind a bit. I use my big vacuum once a week for a deeper cleaning. For what it is this little guy does pretty good! OBJECT AVOIDANCE. My husband wanted the model that is twice the price or more that has the laser mapping eye. Not sure how that works but for the price this works just great! It senses something before running into it, slows down then gently bumps it and turns around. Also the low profile is great for getting under beds and dressers where hair and dirt hides, love this! Not saying I wouldn't like the laser mapping eye but didn't want to spend 2x+ the amount and this has proven to work really well. NAVIGATION. While I know other models are more technologically advanced again for the price this works great. It vacuums in straight lines which is great for my ocd. If it runs into an obstacle it can get off track from those lines as its works it's way around things. Sometimes it seems confused and goes back and forth in the same area, but generally works itself out and keeps going. I would like to be able to control where it goes in the house but not available on this model, but again for the price I'll say I don't really mind. I just let it go where it wants or shut it in an area if I want it to stay in there. BATTERY. The battery is pretty great. Runs for 2+ hours before needing to charge. I have a 2,700 sf rambler and it can't get through the whole house before needing to charge. If it were a tad more efficient in navigation it probably could, but does spend some time trying to figure out where it is and where to go. I just charge it and set it loose on the other side of the house. MAP/APP It has a map feature that is only to show you where it went during the clean up. You can't interact with the map or tell the vaccum to work in certain areas with it. But I knew this when I bought it so wasn't expecting that. If you are looking for a vacuum you can tell where to go then spend more for the upgraded models. I don't feel a huge need for this, works fine for me. The app is more for basic settings, you can turn it on and off and see what it's doing, battery life, have it call out to you if you can't find it. You can hook to Alexa which is awesome to say "tell Harry to start" and off it goes. Again you can't control its direction or rooms work the app it's more for stop/go and basic settings and maintenance. STAIRS. We have a sunken living room with a step.down the whole length if the room, hasn't fallen once. Its senses the step, and moves away, kinda bounces along the step turning, Sensing and moving it's way along it. Perfect. DUST BIN. this model has one of or the largest bins on the market, its holds a lot for hours of work. It's easy to access right on top, open the side and empty. The filter pops out so you can clean it, found taking outside and bumping on concrete left a good amount of dirt. NOISE. I think it's pretty quiet for a vacuum cleaner. I only have my noisy stand up to compare to and its much quieter than that. It's basically just the light suction noise, I don't hear the motor at all. OVERALL. For the price this is the best investment I could have made to help keep my house clean during the week while I'm busy with work. I love being able to start it and walk away accomplishing other things and come back to clean floors. It's a little misguided at times but nothing bad. I'm sure more expensive models are a bit more intelligent but for $350 this is the best option out there. I would highly recommend if you need a helping hand. My favorite feature is the mopping, I hate mopping floors and this does the job for me! This thing is amazing and I can't believe I've never had one, will never be without now! Happy cleaning!!

Exceptional Performance! It works!

Let me start by saying I have purchased no less than 5 robot vacuums over the years and every single one led to disappointment in their operation, performance, and/or features. So my expectations weren’t the highest, but I was hoping the S7 was worth the hefty price and wouldn’t be a another dud. The Roborock S7 was by far the most expensive robot vacuum I’ve ever purchased. I never went over $350.00 with my previous robot buys. But after reading reviews and specs of the S7 and comparing it to countless other vacuums for months and debating with myself about buying the S7, I felt I had researched enough and went ahead and gave it a go. Wow! I am so glad I decided on this particular robot vacuum! ************** The vacuum: The suction is great and the carpet boost really helps pick up dog hair from my three large dogs that are constantly shedding around the house and on the living room rug they like to sleep on. It’s actually pretty unbelievable how well it picks up dog hair and dust/dirt off my rugs, tile, and hardwood flooring that the dogs bring in all day. I love how it is able to get under my beds, most furniture and two couches. I neglect those areas pretty frequently, so it’s nice to not worry about dog hair and dust piling up under them. The S7 is amazing when it comes to vacuuming. It is seriously efficient, you can see where and what room the robot is in via the app and the progress it is making, and they battery life while running is fantastic. Speaking of the app, It is wonderful and easy to use - I love how you can send the robot to vacuum different rooms or certain spots in the house as well as the number of times you want it to pass over the selected room/area. The no go areas and invisible wall functions work perfectly. I’ve had no issues at all setting them up and the S7 recognizes them every time. I’ve had no issues with the robot getting hung up or stuck on something while running. It’s the first robot I’ve had that didn’t need full time babysitting while it was vacuuming. The navigation and mapping of my house are both exceptional. It still runs into certain things but is able to recognize and move around the object. As soon as it has finished cleaning, the S7 will return to the base and empty itself in its bin (if you purchased the auto empty base) and start charging itself. —— Vacuum CONs: As far as my personal observations go, I can only note one con and that’s with the bags for the the auto empty dock. I wish the bags were washable and reusable. I get that the current bags are sealed and keep the dust/debris inside the bag and out of the air and off the floors, but a reusable bag would be great for some buyers who try to keep unnecessary waste to a minimum. For some, the sealed bags wouldn’t be an issue at all and could possibly be a pro. But for me, it’s a small annoyance. ************** The mop: I love that you don’t have to switch out attachments between mopping and vacuuming. The S7 can mop and vacuum at the same time, which is so convenient. Mop CONS: —— You can only use water in the mop tank, which I know some buyers didn’t like because it doesn’t sanitize the floors at all. My work around is using electrolyzed water, which is as effective as bleach at killing germs. Google force of nature cleaner if you want to use water in the mop to sanitize. I’ve had no issues using electrolyzed water and it makes the house smell clean and deodorized. —— without a doubt you will still need to mop your house. The S7 is great for in-between mopping days. When it rains, my dogs track mud in onto my tile floors. The mop function isn’t going to get the mud up well enough. It will get some up, but not enough to be satisfied with the result. But it does great for very light mopping jobs and mopping under most furniture so you don’t need to move things around to mop underneath. *************** Bottom Line: Seriously, I can not recommend the Roborock S7 enough. I would buy it again in a heartbeat. While it was the priciest robot vacuum I’ve ever purchased by a long shot, I’m so glad that, for me at least, it was worth getting over the price sticker shock. It performs fantastic when it comes to vacuuming and the mop function is great for light mopping between good old fashioned bucket and mop cleanings. The S7 gets a rating of 4.7/5 from me. It exceeded my expectations by a miles!

My everyday helper

My house is 100% hardwood with throw rugs in various places. Two levels. Two minimally shedding dogs until their hair is very long. But they do still have hair fall. I also have a gravel driveway and lots of kids and grandkids. I purchased several vacuums prior to this one trying to figure out a solution. I do still love my Oreck upright and find this robo vac its perfect companion. I have had the Roborock Q10 for 4 months now. There have been times when I definitely had to pay attention to it and clean sensors or re-pair to the WiFi. (When I changed WiFi password) And as you can see in my video, I still have to vacuum the rugs. I actually have the vacuum programmed to avoid the thicker rug under my kitchen table. She (the vacuum we named Crystal) got stuck a couple of times between the legs of my kitchen chairs. So I just changed her parameters to avoid the area. I also have my mother’s room off limits in case she leaves her door open. If Crystal finds an open door, she will absolutely go in to do her job. As a matter of fact, she went right out the front door once when someone left it open. My mom and Crystal have a fun “relationship” mom texts me whenever she’s doing something or says, “returning to dock”. She swears she follows her around and giggles at her. I have stopped using the mop. The mopping pad has to be rinsed prior to each use (to wet it) and after if you’re good. And the bucket for water is very small. The floors are so clean of debris that I mop less often now anyway so I don’t mind. However, I realize I don’t need the mop for a future purchase. I suppose if I decide to use it once in a while, it’s still worth having. I did have to find the bags and ordered separately. This unit comes with one bag. They were inexpensive and super easy to change out. The feeling of coming home with no debris along the baseboards is life changing. Clean floors are a must for every home in my opinion. My brain just works better when my floors are clean. We view Crystal as a member of the family now and treat her with great respect. We keep her clean and pay attention when she’s alerting us of anything. Even though she could do two floors, (mapping capacity) I am considering purchasing a second one for the basement. I can’t imagine having to carry her back up and down the stairs when she needs to empty or charge. I have suggested to many of my friends to purchase this for their families. I do also have several low pile rugs that Crystal vacuums and does an amazing job. But I would think anything high pile or shaggy might be difficult for her. Buy it, name it, keep it clean, and enjoy clean floors with minimal effort. 10/10 even with the minimal maintenance. She is such a hard little worker.
