Samsonite Winfield 2
• • • UPDATE 2, THE REVIEW STRIKES BACK • • • It is now June 2022. I survived the pandemic, partly by continuing to travel very infrequently. But friends, when I do, I still use this suitcase. I've probably made 10-15 trips with it total, and it has continued to hold up perfectly. HOWEVER, the price of it—with no obvious improvements—has gone up by a ridiculous $95 since I purchased it five years ago in March 2017. That seems pretty crazy to me. • • • UPDATE 1, RETURN OF THE REVIEW • • • It is now April 2019. I've used this suitcase three more times since I wrote the original review. (I never travel.) It's holding up very well and still working as well as the day I bought it. The outside has gotten a bit dinged up but that has zero effect on its usefulness. I continue to wholeheartedly recommend this suitcase for casual travelers like myself who need a nice, no-nonsense spinner bag. • • • ORIGINAL REVIEW • • • I ordered this suitcase just prior to a week-long trip to Arizona. I traveled by plane, using this as a carry-on with United. It fits within their carry-on guidelines. PROS: - Shockingly spacious inside given the outside measurements! Several helpful doodads (interior zippers and pockets, straps to hold down clothes and other items) to help me cram a ton of things inside -- enough for a packing-heavy lady to travel for a week with two pairs of shoes, several different outfits, and toiletries. - Extremely convenient four-wheel design. I had never owned a suitcase with this option before and I will never go back to two wheels. This completely saved my arm/shoulder walking through the huge Phoenix and Denver airports, especially with a full messenger bag tucked over the top handle weighing it down. - Gorgeous color. I got this in the purple shade, and it truly is a sight to behold. Easy to distinguish in a crowd. - I am 5'4”; and not particularly strong; I had no trouble lifting this in/out of overhead bins or on/off escalators. - Strong, easy-to-close zippers and super convenient locking mechanism. CONS: - The suitcase can be difficult to maneuver on four wheels at times, especially when I had the messenger bag resting on top. It did tip over once when I was a little too overzealous. This issue did not come up anywhere near frequently enough to cut a star but is worth mentioning. - The beautiful exterior does seem to scratch rather easily. Overall, I strongly recommend this suitcase to any casual traveler searching for a spinner model. I love it and I hope you will too!

Very nice rolling suitcase
This is very light, like super light. I'm a bit of an extreme packer and bought this recently for a 2 week business trip to the tropics (yes I know, it's a tough job), packing mostly shorts and t-shirts with a few short sleeve shirts and slacks for meetings. I rolled everything and here's what I managed to pack into this suitcase (mind you I didn't want to check anything because I had to take 4 planes and each layover was under 90 minutes so I was concerned about the luggage not tracking along): - 15 t-shirts - 15 pairs of underwear - 5 pairs of socks - 2 pairs of slacks - 5 pairs of shorts ranging from medium length to cargos - 2 jersey polos - 3 button down short sleeve shirts - 1 lightweight hooded Columbia rain jacket - 1 pair of dress loafers - 1 pair of lightweight flip flops - 2 USB/AC power bricks (small but still, extra stuff!) I packed a small toiletry bag in my backpack. Once done the lid had to push a bit (not like sitting on it or anything) to close. Zippers held very nicely. I was a happy camper though I couldn't wedge another item into the suitcase if my life depended on it. The suitcase rolled well over tiles, street, and light carpeting. However, the one thing I noticed is when I dropped my backpack on top of it, it had a tendency to tip over. This could be because my backpack was fairly heavy with laptops and electronics, but it never happened with my last suitcase. Overall though, it was a pleasure to use, a breeze to throw up on the overhead on an international flight, nobody questioned its size, and I had all my stuff with me when I finally got to my hotel. Let's see how long this lasts. I travel frequently for business, so will update back after a bit more use. For now I'm a satisfied customer.

Great Carry-On That Rolls Easily
I've had to replace some older carry-on pieces since the airlines continue to shrink the acceptable sizes for the carry-on luggage. Spouse was an airline employee for many years so we traveled extensively. Always had a rule that there was one bag we NEVER were separated from. This piece easily holds four days worth of clothes, especially now with lightweight advanced material shirts and pants. Even if the airline lost our checked baggage, we would be able to survive with this one carry-on piece. The inside area is roomy considering the size of the luggage. One side has a zippered flap that holds all the folded clothes securely in place. The opposite side uses elastic straps with a plastic buckle. I'm liking the design and used this extensively on trips to Europe. The only thing I miss on the newer designs is an outside pocket that gives me quick access to certain items, but I think the overall luggage design trend is moving away from that concept. Would buy this again if needed.

Decent quality
I bought my wife this bag but the 28" checked bag back in 2017. She loves it for when we travel. She likes how easy it is to move around an airport or cruise terminal. So when she got back from her last cruise where she also had to fly, she mentioned about not having a good carry on bag. I looked for a carry on that would closely match what her 28" bag was. I was pleasently surprised to find they are still making her model, so I could get the exact matching bag in a 20" carrly on. She was estatic when she opened it for Christmas.
