Excellent kettle, better than the larger one, zero complaints. Been using every day for months.
I've used this nearly every single day for over two months, often several times per day, and I'm very happy with it. I spent literally hours comparing dozens of different kettles (foolish of me, good for you), and I'm confident I made the right choice with this one. I'm the type to nitpick and notice any design flaws, and while I'm reluctant to use the word 'perfect', the fact that I have zero complaints about this says a lot! Actually, at first I ordered a larger version from the same manufacturer, and ended up returning it for this one. Both were fine, but this was better for me: Primarily because this has a smaller minimum fill level (300 ml). That means less energy use and faster boil time, since the vast majority of the time I just need enough for one cup of coffee or oatmeal (300 ml is still usually more than I need, but this is better than most kettles on the market). It also takes up less space on my counter, and I like that the lid opens a full 90°. I don't mind the manual instead of spring-loaded opening, if anything I prefer it, and that probably makes it more durable. The base is good and grippy so it stays where I put it. I haven't had to clean it yet (except once before my first use, and occasionally wiping off coffee splatter near the spout), but the smaller size and 90° lid opening makes it easier to clean than the larger version. It still looks brand new. It's fairly easy to read the inside markings for the minimum fill line, the wide opening lid probably helps with that. Overall this feels solid and well made, yet light and compact enough that it wouldn't be crazy to take this on a road trip (though there may be better options for that). The outside only gets warm not hot, and while almost none of these kettles insulate well (regardless of claims), it is double walled and stays hot enough for long enough for my purposes at least. It heats fast enough that if I get distracted for a while and I'm not sure how hot it is, I just flip the switch again, it boils so rapidly it's really not an issue- usually the water is ready before I am.. I suppose the only things that could make this better is vacuum insulation, and an even smaller minimum fill level (the latter may not be feasible for safety/durability reasons, and vacuum insulated kettles seem to be very rare on Amazon at least [despite several obviously false advertising claims]). FYI I ruled out kettles with an exterior liquid level indicator, because I think that has more potential for sanitary issues; and fancier looking glass ones because anytime you have multiple materials joined together, there is more potential for leaks, cracks, and other failures (especially when high heat and liquid are involved). Aside from the obvious fragility (and poor thermal insulation) of glass as opposed to metal and plastic. But seriously unless you need a larger kettle, you should probably stop looking and just buy this one. If I somehow lost or broke this one, I would buy the exact same one again. [Update April 2023: I'm still using this every single day, often multiple times per day, and it's still going strong! One of my best purchases ever. I think I used CLR one time to remove some mineral buildup, I probably will again at some point, but it really isn't necessary.]

My favorite electric kettle ever!
UPDATE: my first review was from March 29, 2023 and now it’s December 24, 2025. This kettle is still working just as well as it did a few years ago when I got it! No issues. Still love it! I just use once per day for morning coffee pour-overs. I fill with a Brita pitcher to have filtered water in it. Would still recommend! I searched and searched extensively for an electric kettle with NO PLASTIC touching hot water and make of either glass and/or stainless steel. And a SIMPLE straight forward one with no gooseneck or fancy features. I purchased and returned a few from Amazon that I knew wouldn’t work for me upon unboxing, even without using. Due to ultra thin glass I feared would shatter eventually, difficult to clean ones or pictures and reviews that weren’t thorough enough to show plastics actually inside. I’m the only one using it so I didn’t need something large or bulky on the counter. I settled on this 1 Liter model in a fun lipstick red. I love it!! It boils HOT and FAST and is very quiet. No whistles or screeching. I also didn’t want or need to spend the extra for different temp settings since I use it for one thing: simple coffee pourovers. If you’ve boiled water enough times you can hear the level of heat the water is at, so it’s not biggie for me without calibrations. Or just let it sit once done if you want it cooled a bit. Love it, have had for some months now no issues and would buy again. (No I’m not receiving any incentives for this positive review)

Feel Secura in this Brand. It's Simply the Best!
I had the taller model of Secura for more than 17 years. But due to my neglect (set it down on the stove forgetting the burner was still hot 2 minutes after having turned it off, duh!) the outer plastic part melted and it took some time getting the glass stovetop cleaned. Searched for a good replacement, but all of the ones with the best reviews had serious issues. 'Stopped working after a month' 'after a year'. 'Leaked'. 'Bad plastic smell'. 'Rust'. And not just a few mentioned these issues. Finally dug my old one out of the trash, saw the name, 'Secura,' and looked it up. Oh, happy Day! Amazon still carries it! The only issue I had with the old model was that it was bigger than I needed. But this model, like Goldilocks' porridge, is just right. It boils two 16 oz cups+ of water quickly and stays hot. No rust forms on the bottom, It's easy to clean since the lid opens to a 90 degree angle, it doesn't leak, and the water never comes in contact with plastic because the fill level is marked with indented lines on the inside, not a glued on piece of plastic. "This kettle does not have a water level window, no plastic or glue will come into contact with the water." Safe healthy drinking water in addition to a product that lasts for years. That's what we all want, right? Oh, and it looks good, too!

Kettle without any plastic contact to the water
It took a long search online and 2 returned kettles to find a smartly designed one like this that doesn’t have any plastic touching the boiling water. I like the outer plastic keeping the kettle cool to touch. The interior is all metal and smooth without any weird holes, gauges, or heating rods sticking out to make it hard to clean. The lid opens 90 degrees and I was able to easily put my hand inside to clean it. I also like the simple one temperature option so there is less chance of malfunction due to too complicated tech. The water heated up quickly as expected for an electric kettle. R Reasonably priced for a simple kettle. Highly recommend!
