Inexpensive and heavy - solidly built!
This is a great feeder! We try to feed our birds, but usually the squirrels get most of it. We’ve looked at many supposedly “squirrel-proof” bird feeders, but many are around $130 or more! We’ll see if this feeder stands up to our squirrels, I swear they trained under Cirque du Soleil. Although time will ultimately tell the effectiveness, and I’ll update this review accordingly, out of the box this feeder is extremely impressive! Heavy and large - this will store several days worth of food. Much more than our other “squirrel proof feeder” that we refill daily. To be fair, the birds get some food, the squirrels get the rest. Even if the squirrels do get this food it will probably last at least two days, maybe even more! The top is secured with two tabs, easy to get in to refill, but very secure when closed. The only negative, if there is any, is that you will need to hang this in a solid pole or tree limb. A lightweight stand or branch will not do! Despite that one thing, which is really just for your own planning and consideration, this is most definitely 5 stars and very well worth the price!! I’ve seen smaller and less durable feeders that are more expensive.

This is a wonderful bird feeder and one of the nicer-looking ones I've put up. The deep rust-red color really stands out in a good way and looks great outdoors, especially against trees and greenery. The all-metal construction feels sturdy and well made, and the powder-coated finish gives me confidence that it will hold up to the Florida weather. It feels much more durable than the plastic feeders I've used in the past. What I like most is the large capacity. It holds a lot of seed, so I'm not constantly climbing up to refill it every few days. The wide opening makes refilling quick and easy, and the design allows multiple birds to feed at once without constantly fighting over a perch. It arrived fully assembled and was ready to hang right out of the box, which is always appreciated. Cleaning also looks like it will be straightforward thanks to the simple design. It's all metal and designed to withstand all kinds of weather. There's plenty of room for birds like finches and cardinals to feed. After some online searching I learned that birds are often more attracted to green bird feeders than any other color. So I hunted for a green one, which was harder to find than I expected. I am super happy with this feeder and hope to see lots of new birds coming to it this summer. It measures 9.6"H and 9.2"W. A good size for holding plenty of bird food to hopefully last a couple of days. This feeder is sturdy enough to hold several pounds of seed. Refilling is easy with this, as well. This is a great feeder for anyone wanting to add that extra element of movement from the birds coming and going to their garden. The color doesn't distract from the birds beautiful colors, either. Large, heavy duty bird feeder.
This is a beautiful, heavy duty bird feeder and I'm so impressed with how well made it is. These days it seems like feeders look good in person, then when you get them in hand they end up seeming a lot more cheaply made than expected. But that's not at all the case with this feeder! It's all metal and the green finish on it is beautiful! I have a large, heavy duty Shepard's hook and that was perfect for hanging this feeder from. I have smaller hooks too, but the feeder is so large that it would end up brushing up against the post. So the larger, heavier Shepard's hook worked the best for this. Since the hook on it was larger and held the feeder father away from the pole. If you have larger birds you want to feel this feeder can handle their weight. I've had this set up for about a week now and the birds around me took to it right away. Within a day or so they found the feeder and have been using it ever since. Very nice!
