Excellent shower/bathroom speaker
I bought this speaker for my fiancee to use in her bathroom. I was looking for a handful of features: 1) small size and fairly light weight, since it would need to either fit on her (crowded 😅) sink countertop or hang from a hook in the shower. This is not the absolute smallest Bluetooth speaker you can get, but it's pretty close so it checked that box. 2) good sound for its size. I wanted something that had more thump and clarity than a phone speaker, otherwise what's the point? Reviews led me to believe this would do the trick, and listening to it now (I may have temporarily commandeered it for the purposes of science, of course) it definitely exceeds my expectations. It won't rattle your chest at this size, but kick drums have a proper thump and bass lines that your phone speaker might not even emit are clearly present here. Another nice feature is that this speaker gets decently loud (definitely as loud as you'd ever need in a bathroom) and the sound quality doesn't fall apart as you hit max volume the way many other speakers, especially smaller speakers, do. You can play this thing at its full volume happily, so it's not effectively capped at 80% the way some other Bluetooth speakers are due to deteriorating sound quality at their top volumes. Bass is modest but present, mids are very smooth, and the treble is not muffled- it's perfectly crisp at all the higher frequencies. About the most one can expect from this size class. 3) good price. There are many speakers around this size that exceed $50 and some that even stretch over $100. I'm not convinced you can do much better than this sound quality without purchasing an outright larger speaker. For ~$25, this is a great value. So it checked my main three boxes, but it also comes with some extra party tricks: it has pretty decent battery life, I've seen tests which suggest it will play >10 hours on a full charge. That's plenty for a bathroom speaker, I think. You can also pair two together for full stereo sound which, based on my listening so far, might actually be more satisfying than you'd think for some pretty small units. Even if you had two that are mostly used on their own in separate bathrooms, it's nice to know you have that option. Additionally, it has an EQ in the soundcore app which both has preset options as well as a fully-customizable EQ option. Fairly uncommon feature for speakers under $30. All in all, I think this is one of the best values you'll find for a Bluetooth speaker of this size/price. As long as you understand this is a great option for personal listening in the shower, bathroom, or a small office and not the best idea for starting a party, I think you'll be satisfied. It is a just a bit larger than you are probably imagining. In my head it was basically the size of a bar of soap, but in real life it's closer to the size of a 12 ounce can. It's a different shape obviously, but I'd say the overall size is very similar. Anywhere you could place a can, you could place this too. One last note: while there isn't a huge difference either way I've found that the best sound quality comes from hanging it by the built-in fabric loop. The sound seems just a little more crisp and clear, probably due to fewer vibrations reverberating into any surface.

Giant Killer
This speaker Exceeded my expectations, and being a SoundCore collector, they were pretty High. I have a lot of bluetooth speakers, including a few from Soundcore, including the MotionBoom Plus and Motion 300. While the Motion 300 is still my all-round favorite for it's sound and portability, this Select 4 Go is much smaller and lighter weight, and holds it's own very well in the sound quality and loudness departments. I highly recommend using the app because, for me, most music sounds better on this speaker with the bass boosted. In fact, this is the first SoundCore speaker, or headphones for that matter, that I actually like the bass boost turned on most of the time. The others tend to sound muddy with it, and suppress the treble too much. Even with the bass boosted, the Select 4 Go keeps nice, crisp highs and warm, clean midrange. I'm hoping that Soundcore adds more EQ options, as they typically have for new offerings in the past, because I think this speaker is capable of more than the current 4 settings are allowing it to do. I only have one of these speakers and have tested it in several environments. I currently use the Motion 300 as my shower speaker and it sounds amazing with it's high fidelity stereo sound, but the Motion 4 Go would serve very well for this, too, and I have to think that a pair of them set up with True Wireless Stereo would probably win me over, if it weren't for the fact that the Motion 400 just fits perfectly in my shower's unused soap holder nook, and turning one speaker on instead of two is just more convenient. That being said, if I didn't already have the Motion 300, I'd probably opt to save a few dollars and get two of these little guys, instead, since two of these cost less than one of the Motion 300's. (Remember, that's my favorite portable speaker I'm talking about) Then again, if I was made of money, I'd just get two of the Motiom 300's and preemptively make an appointment for a hearing aid fitting. I've also used the Select 4 Go in my office at work, which is rather large since it's a control room that accommodates up to 6 technologists at a time and also holds a lot of equipment. Alone, this speaker filled the room with sound better than most of the bluetooth speaker PAIRS that I pitted it against in this scenario. Yes, they were cheaper speaker pairs, but they'd been happily used for the task in the past, and were simply outperfomed by this lone but mighty little guy. Again, I have to think that two would be more than ample for casual or small gathering listening in a medium sized room. I've also compared this with quite a few similarly sized items from other companies like JBL and Bose, and I have to say that, in my opinion, the Soundcore sounds about the same or slightly better than those, but with a much nicer price tag. I've had no problems with connectivity, so far, and setup is a breeze. If you're looking for a small, lightweight, rugged speaker that can actually pump out great sound without breaking your wallet, this is the way to go. I am consider ordering a second one to pair them in stereo, and will update if I do.

Get This For Your Baby, and Yourself!
This was an absolute elite gift for my son’s first birthday. I was shocked at how amazing this little speaker sounds. I have a 4 year old little JBL speaker and this one sounds better. I’ve found myself borrowing it for my workouts in the garage. As far as the speaker itself it’s lightweight, well built, and looks nice. The controls are responsive and nice. After charging it the first time it was extremely easy to pair with my devices, and I’ve had no issues with the Bluetooth. The battery lasts at least as long as promised, but seems like more to me. The app you can use with this is a nice feature. You can use custom equalizer settings, but I’ve found the standard one sounds great. You can also choose how long you want the speaker to remain idle before it turns off. If you’re interested in this for a baby or toddler: This is the perfect size for a little one. It is durable, waterproof, and the charging port is covered. From the first day my son received this he carried around the speaker wherever he went to play. He holds it up to me when he would like it turned on. When paired with an iPad you can set a maximum volume, so even if he did get to the volume buttons it’s completely safe and not too loud at the max. Before having this speaker my son would carry around Baby Einstein musical toys, and keep them going while he played. We usually play the baby Einstein playlists on Apple Music which he loves (and the songs sound MUCH better) but there’s other kids music too. The one feature that will take some time for my son to use is the skip because you have to press the play/pause button two times quickly. I’m sure that he will learn more quickly than I expect. I almost spent $140+ on a toddler music system that would have cost me $20 every time we wanted a new set of about 15 songs. Instead we have this awesome little speaker, a less expensive music subscription, and I get to use it too. Photo features average sized board book for scale.

Perfect Gift for Everyday Listening: Loud, Waterproof & Easy to Use.
I purchased this speaker as a gift for my mom, and it has honestly been one of the most successful gifts I’ve given her. She listens to YouTube channels throughout the day and had often mentioned that she couldn’t hear her livestreams clearly while showering, washing dishes, or doing louder chores around the house. I suggested headphones at one point, but she’s not a fan — and they wouldn’t have worked well in the shower anyway. So I decided to try this waterproof speaker, and it turned out to be the perfect solution. The Bluetooth pairing process was very simple. My mom isn’t particularly tech-savvy and didn’t know how to pair it at first, but once I showed her how easy it was, she had it connected in no time. Now she carries it all over the house without any issues. She tells me that the battery life is great and the item is small and light enough to carry around with ease. The sound is impressively powerful for its size. She can vacuum and still clearly hear her YouTube lives, which says a lot. The build feels solid and durable, and the waterproof feature makes it ideal for bathrooms and kitchen use. It also comes in cute colors, which makes it feel gift-worthy. If I had one small suggestion for improvement, it would be to make the hanging strap just a bit longer for added convenience. Other than that, it’s been a fantastic purchase. Overall, I highly recommend this speaker — especially as a practical and thoughtful gift for someone who enjoys listening throughout the day.
