Description
About this item Mini but Mighty at keeping squirrels at bay. Stop squirrels — for real. Truly squirrel-proof: The weight of an adult squirrel automatically closes the shroud, denying access to seed. Save your seed (and your money). Pays for itself: Squirrels can’t steal your wild bird seed anymore. Over time, this means big savings — enough to pay for the feeder itself. Chew-proof. All exposed parts are made with chew-proof materials. Tool-free design: Every component is easy to take apart by hand — no tools required for cleaning or assembly. Fresh seed = more birds. Seed ventilation system: Our patented design keeps seed fresh longer, attracting more wild birds to your feeder. Perfect for perching and clinging birds. Versatile design: Perches suit small perching birds, and the shroud gives clingers like woodpeckers and nuthatches a secure surface too. Use the right food, get the right birds. Recommended bird food: Works best with sunflower seeds, safflower seeds, and/or dried mealworms. Real support when you need it. Lifetime care: We stand behind our products. Call us — a real person will answer the phone and gladly help you. Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST (except holidays). Show more See more product details

Wonderful product, product line, and company
Concerned that my indoor cat was getting bored during the day, I bought one of these back in 2012 and hung it from the eave just outside the large glass sliding doors on my back porch. My house has not one but two grand old Pecan trees in the yard, and the annual Running of the Squirrels, each Fall, causes such a hubbub that my friends are known to come over so they can sit outside with me and just watch. Point? This things works to keep out squirrels. I've seen them try, and I've seen them fail. Repeatedly. Often in hilarious ways. Birds, on the other hand, love it. During the height of the season I have to refill it almost daily. I've read some reviews here talking about jamming problems with larger seed; I've fed an organic mix from the local "natural gardener" outlet for almost three years now without a single jam. (The largest ingredient in this mix is what appears to be unshelled pumpkin seeds.) With this mix, the feeder works almost literally "like a hose;" if you'd rather not be refilling it that often you might want to consider treating yourself to one of the larger models. If I could redesign any part of the thing, I would replace the clear polymer feed chamber and chute with one made out of glass (possibly with separate aluminum rather than integral plastic vanes). Like all engineering plastics, especially clear ones, this part is susceptible to UV degradation. This is how my original feeder ultimately failed: the plastic part turned yellow and, just last week when I was refilling it, I dropped it about four feet onto a grassy hillside and the plastic broke at the bottom where the screws thread in. It's worth noting that the feeder could still be filled, assembled, and used in this condition, but it now required some tricky maneuvering to get it back together without the spring popping out. I checked my purchase date and found I was several months past the 2-year factory warranty expiration, so I visited the Brome website and, per the instructions I found there, wrote to them to ask about a replacement part. I told them what happened, how much I liked the feeder otherwise, and that I would gladly pay for the replacement and its shipping. They sent me a new one for free. The new assembly arrived in the mail yesterday, and I just this morning filled it up and popped it in. As I write this the birds are happily perching and nibbling away outside my window. In short, this is an outstanding product from a company demonstrably committed to designing, manufacturing, and supporting outstanding products. It deserves very nearly the strongest recommendation I can give. Thanks, folks. Please keep it up!

Excellent, works as expected
The video is the actual feeder in our backyard. Here in PA we have a backyard with alot of wild bird traffic during the spring and summer, and squirrel all year long. We used another brand feeder which was supposed to be squirrel-proof, for a few months - same concept, squirrel weight forces ports to close, but squirrel had figured it out within 2 weeks: they would get on the feeder and actually twisted sheet metal which was supposed to close the ports. Squirrel just hogged the feeder, robbed it at will and birds only had a certain timeframe to enjoy the seed, otherwise they felt dicouraged and rather stay away. We don't like bulky baffles so we looked at some simple but proven squirrel-proof feeder as a replacement. It's been 3 weeks now that we use Brome Squirrel Buster Mini and it's such a stark difference, NO squirrel dare to try it anymore, and they are feeding from the ground spillover under it all the time. At first we saw a couple unsuccessful attempts: squirrel would jump on the feeder, then quickly lose balance and give up. They are very smart: they tried but now they don't bother to waste effort to try again. It's all birds' now. Speaking about birds, some reviewers here mention larger blackbirds, grackles - that's true, they are able to feed off this feeder, but - at least in our backyard - those larger birds are rather a minority. We are now seeing much, much more bird activity, they empty this small feeder in a day during peak season, but we don't mind, so - stock up on wild bird seed and watch the action. It now is true fun and birds love this feeder, except for the Cardinals. For some reason they ignore the feeder and prefer to feed off the ground spillovers. Also, as some reviewers noted, it's important to have this feeder hanging with a clearance around it so that squirrel don't have a chance to cling to any support and spread their weight. We are using garden flagpole (with horizontal upper bar and around 6' high). This feeder is small enough for the standard flagpole and such flagpole provides necessary clearance. Design of the Brome Mini is quite sturdy, solid and thoughtful. Looks like it will last. At this price, it's probably the best choice around.

Great squirrel deterrent feeder — well made
I’ve bought three of these and love them! It is an excellent, well made product and a real value compared to other squirrel-deterrent feeders. It really works. I wanted to try out feeding the birds but didn’t want to invest a lot in a feeder. This feeder is mostly metal, so the squirrels can’t chew it or destroy it. Boy, do they try. The mechanism works quite well, and keeps the squirrels mostly out of the feeder. There are a couple enterprising ones that figure out a way to support their weight and foil the mechanism. It doesn’t work for chipmunks. They’re too light weight. I’d recommend putting cayenne pepper in the birdseed and using this feeder to make it about 98% squirrel and chipmunk proof. It is easy to fill. I use a bottle brush to clean it. It is an excellent product and a real value compared to a lot of other squirrel deterring feeders.

Squirrel Buster Mini is awesome!
The Brome Squirrel Buster Mini 🐿️birdfeeder is a great product, it is very well made, sturdy metal, easy to put together, stainless steel perches are birdie friendly for different size birds (cardinal/finch/sparrow) plus we get other tiny birds from the marsh, this is a very sturdy product, plus it’s windy today but nit much swaying at all, the inner tube with the metal mesh guard is great to stop any harm to the inner tube, it is everything and more what the description says, *so glad I made this purchase* - my video showing to remove/reinstall the hooked hanger from the side, I made few videos but could only upload one. 🙌 the iBorn baffler is also a great product, very sturdy, 18 inches protection, easy to put together!!
