Comfortable to hold and will not tip over easily
I am quite choosy with my purchases and have to really like them to keep them. I have had satisfaction with other Stanley products in the past. I just received this mug about 3 days ago and have to say I think this is something I will keep as I like it right from the start. I ordered the white,,it is a smooth finish with a grippy type black rubber bottom. The handle fits my hand (somewhat fat fingers) and is comfortable to hold. The 20oz size is perfect for a large + serving of coffee,,it stays hot even with the lid open for hours. The lid closes tight and does not leak. The lid itself closes and opens "hard" like others have stated, but then again it wont spill open unexpectedly if locked in the closed position. You have to get used to where to "start" screwing the lid down to line up to where the spout is comfortable and balanced for drinking, but once you get the general idea it becomes easy. The actual cover and size of spout where your lips touch is comfortable and not too big or small for liquid flow. Best part of all is that the mug is very "flat" and not tippy. I like to do paperwork on my bed first thing in the morning when I am fresh and this mug can sit on the bed or on a book or a folder or whatever and does not tip over. This will not fit in any cup holder in a car but could work on the passenger seat with the grippy bottom. Take away claim to fame: will not easily tip over and comfortable to hold. Likely keeping after two more weeks of testing use. I was not paid in any way to write this review and personally paid for this item in full.

The Admiral is a great mug that keeps drinks hot, built tough and looks really cool, too!
Such an awesome mug! It's built like a tank, keeps coffee hot for a long time and just looks awesome. I liked it so much, I got it in black and also the green color. The mug has quality paint and even after a lot of use, it still looks new. It's great on road trips and I let it ride on my passenger seat, since it doesn't fit in my cup holder. On turns or quick braking, it's stable. The bottom has a great rubber base that really keeps in place. The design lid is great and handle is positioned well for easy carrying. The fun part about this mug is the looks you'll get at coffee shops & gas stations when refilling it. The Admiral doesn't look like regular coffee mug and stands out. I've a few people ask about it and they liked the look of it, too. For the build quality, function and overall use, I think this mug is a great value for the money. I'm definitely looking forward to using it on my boat and also on camping trips, too. I give it 5 Stars!

Happy I splurged on this.
Very sturdy. It's not as bright as I first expected, but other reviews alerted me to that. The lid pops up fine. Yes, it's tight, but I can deal with it. The whole point is for it not to tip over and to be leak proof. It's bigger than I thought it would be, which is a plus. I knew it would not fit into a car cup holder, and don't plan to go anywhere with it. This one is for my desk, and not getting anything on my computer or books. I really love it. I haven't actually used it yet, so I'll update if I have anything to add. I know Stanley makes awesome thermoses, that are pretty indestructible. I expect this mug to last at least as long as I do.

Finally a great mug that won't tip over.
I like that this has a wide base so it stays steady. I set it on the little platform between my front seats on my minivan since it obviously is too big for a cup holder. Thankfully it doesn't need one! One of the screws fastening the handle to the actual mug feels like there is some slight play in it. I assumed I'd be able to tighten it, but don't have the right tool. I need a small, 6-sided star bit with a circular circular cut out because Stanley used an uncommon type of screw. Keep my coffee hot for as long as I need it to.
