For the price I paid, knowing it was a no-light projector, I have no regrets.
I got this on during a Prime Deal, so I paid about $175. For that price I'm very happy with the purchase. It was basically a test run to see if I wanted a projector instead of a TV. So a great value for what I paid, but I don't have anything to compare it to. This is not a bright projector and they don't advertise it as one. You basically need complete darkness to fully enjoy it. I am also projecting onto a wall so I might be exceeding the 120" recommended limit. I haven't measured it. If it was closer it would probably be brighter with better contrast but I prefer the bigger image for now. Butter over too much bread, etc. So I might be exceeding recommended specs and they didn't exaggerate the brightest on the box. So it is what it is. Not counting that against TCL. And surprisingly, a 1080p image doesn't look bad even at that size. Especially if animated. Was noticing details I didn't notice on a typical 50/60" inch tvs. Was expecting to look blurry but I might just upgrade to an amazing 1080p projector in the future instead of spending more on a 4k one. The color quality is satisfactory, good even. I don't have any way to test it but I had no complaints about the color from sight alone. But the contrast will obviously suffer with the low brightest. The auto focus is quick and accurate. I probably overused it because it only took about ten seconds to calibrate. The Google interface and menus are very snappy. My mother bought a different cheap Halloween projector and it was slow and exhausting to use in comparison to this one. This felt like a good streaming stick. If you're using this casually and don't intend to install it I might suggest a sturdy tripod (that can support a 10-15 pound device) since you have to move the projector to increase or decrease the size of the image... I think, and you want to minimize the angle. I'm just currently stacking boxes. It does correct for some amount of angle but I presume you get the best image when projecting straight ahead. It has WIFI and Bluetooth which were useful for headphones but the speakers are acceptable when I use them. This is plug powered. My only unexpected issue was the HDMI port was a little out of alignment on mine. I was really struggling to plug something in until I realized that it worked if I inserted at a downward angle. Also there is no lens cover. And lastly, I was amused there was an eco mode. That's probably just a standard setting for the OS but when you almost have to block moonlight from coming through the windows, offering me the ability to reduce the brightness even more was pretty funny. The outdoor version is brighter but more expensive. However, the outdoor model was $250 on sale. What this apparently costs at full price. Might have gone with that if I made the purchase again. But I might play with a smaller image to see what that does to the brightness. But if I could block out the light, I'd be entirely happy with this. It feels and works like a premium device in the right conditions.

Totally Changed My Nighttime Routine
I’m really happy with this purchase! The projector turned out to be much, much better than I expected (I originally thought I was strictly a TV person). The picture quality is crisp and clear, and the colors look clean and vibrant. It instantly gives my room a cozy mini-theater vibe. What I love the most is how flexible it is. The 285 rotation makes it super easy to adjust the angle, whether I’m watching on the wall, from bed, or even projecting onto the ceiling. No need to move the whole thing around. Made my life much easier. It’s very simple to set up and the fan noise is minimal, so it doesn’t distract us when winding down at night. It has even become part of our little nighttime routine, my partner really enjoys it too. Overall, really satisfied with this purchase and feel it offers great value. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a projector with great image quality and flexible usage!

Good quality projector, worth paying a bit extra.
Absolutely fantastic, listen folk, I've tried a total of 3 "cheap" projectors from Amazon (100USD) All of them had problems in less than a month! One of them, had a bad HDMI port, the other, had a weird white dot in it after 2 weeks? And the 3rd literally came with a black dot, which just was there. Sure, you're paying for a premium, and I can't say the video quality is much better, but good lord, it works! Google TV works fine, I installed the apps I wanted no problem. Picture quality is fantastic. And had no issues pop up! I picked this one due to the advertised sealed projection engine. As I really worried it'd get issues quickly like the other ones! But I have faith in TCL's quality control. Did have a minor issue with the WIFI (I had to forget network, restart & reconnect to it) but it may be my router.

Great "Plug and Play" Option for a Variety of Home Entertainment Set-Ups
So easy to set-up and creates a crystal clear image from pretty much any angle and fits nicely on my bookshelf. I was looking for a projector that can project onto my wall from an angle with keystone correction so I don't need to have the project in or behind my couch. It connects super easily to any of your video and streaming apps and has decent sound quality from the built-in speakers. The auto keystone correction does a decent job at adjusting to any angle, but it is also super easy to manually correct and generally will save the correction for the next time you turn it on.
