When they say "The Complete", they mean it! Only thing missing is a book podium to hold it!
My mom recently discovered the "America's Test Kitchen" TV show on broadcast TV and it immediately reminded her of the types of cook books that they'd made during the Depression where the government had created all of these "tried and true" recipes that would taste good regardless of whether fresh, canned, or frozen ingredients were used because supplies were so scarce and nothing could be wasted. Because of her experience with that book, the moment she heard about this book being released, she wanted a copy. And, as I mentioned in the title, when they cay "The Complete ...", they mean everything. Most publishers would cheat the customer by having the caveat of "only featuring the recipes in the episodes that have been aired to date as of this publishing date". Nope. Not this publisher. This book actually contains all of the recipes in the yet-to-be-aired shows for all of 2026; making it not just a reflection of what has already been aired but a roadmap of what they plan to showcase in the coming year. That is a tremendous amount of foresight and planning ... and actually avoids that common sentiment that, by the time a book is published, it's already out-of-date. This one is actually 1 year ahead of the game. 1 year of recipes in advance like that is quite significant and adds even more value to this book. Which is saying a lot given how relatively cheap this book is compared to how large it is and how well made it is. This isn't just a recipe book. This is a Cooking Tome and, as such, would be quite worthy of and appear very fitting if displayed on a podium-style angled book holder so the podium supports the book's weight and it's easier for the cook to change pages. Because, as thrilled as she was to get the book, the single biggest problem is that, being so expansive, it is too heavy for Mom to hold and she's had to put it on the arm of a couch to be able to look through it. Not something I would fault the publisher for because the only way to have avoided that was to have made the book more cheaply and shrunk the text too much. They really do deliver on their promise of being a complete cook book. One may just not realize just how substantial 25-years of recipes can be. So, that would be the only caveat I'd add to this for anybody considering whether or not to buy it. That, depending on a person's situation, a bookstand may not just be "highly recommended" but "absolutely necessary".

Massive, Complete Volume of the last 26 Years. A Bargain
This is a beautiful book. Warning: It is MASSIVE. The description lists the weight at a laughable 1.25 pounds. It’s half an ounce shy of 7 pounds. I think it’s time for them to split this book into decades. Usually keep my cookbooks above the fridge but hauling this sucker down would be too dangerous. Don’t get me wrong, I love that it has all the recipes. But I think they should sell it as a boxed set with unified indexes. I’d also really like to see a web app search engine for this book and the Cooks Country TV show book where you could either search the topic, key ingredients, or other search criteria and have it tell you what edition and page its on. Anyway, it’s a truly impressive tome. It’s amazing how many recipes that show has covered in 26 years. I love they kept the Why this works. I wish the illustrations were bigger, but that would make the book unliftable. I also wish they’d list the season and episode each recipe is from. ATK, like everything, has evolved over time. The one big flaw in the book is that they do not provide metric measurements or weights when it comes to baking. I really prefer to cook by weight when I can. I realize these are a lot of very old recipes when that wasn’t common. But it’s time to do some editing.

A fantastic encyclopedic cookbook of interesting, optimized, and delicious recipes
This is a fantastic encyclopedic cookbook that contains all manner of wonderful recipes from the TV show. The range is tremendous and I love that it contains interesting and delicious recipes from numerous types of cooking including Asian (including Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese), Spanish, Mexican, and others too numerous to mention. The recipes don't get in by chance -- they are curated and selected to mostly insure they are delicious and interesting, and the TV show attempts to do a light "optimization" of them as well which reduces practical problems when cooking them and provides a few good tips on how to prepare them. I put this in my "top 5" cookbooks of all time which is the highest praise I can give. I could cook out of this book for the rest of my life and probably never get bored or run out of challenges and discoveries. Hugely worth the price of admission! Recommended!

insane amount of recipes !
ATK recipes are frequently what you would get in a high end restaurant. There are easy recipes for all, and some really complex ones which are not for faint of heart. expect to spend an hour in the preps, but the results are amazing. ATK tests out recipes before accepting them. save time from googling all those crappy recipes you find by asking Mr. Google. And their subscription app is incredible. find new recipes and save your favourites...
