Life saver and marriage saver
I have not finished this book, but let me tell you, it contains principles that you can put to work in your every day life with everyone. This book is amazing for the soul. It's great for introspection: am I really as good as I think I am? am I really as loving? what can I work on? what bothers me and why? These questions come up (not in the book) when you're thinking about the "dares" that they give to you. The first dare is to not say anything negative to your spouse, and if you feel the need to, don't say anything at all. My husband and I are happily married and incredibly in love, but I see that not all couples are still like this, so this book is awesome for them. I got it because I know there are times where I can be insensitive to his feelings and needs and I write it off as me being hormonal-- but in the end, I realize that I still hurt him and it broke my heart that I could ever act in a less than loving way. Even though we aren't like the couple in the movie (have you seen the movie Fireproof? Watch it with something to wipe your tears on near by!), I still feel that everything I am learning in this book is definitely applicable. What's nice is there are 40 days in this book, which has Biblical significance. Even if you're not religious or don't read the Bible, I would still recommend this book to anyone because it does touch on the needs of the soul (even if you don't think you have one, it still touches something!). Give this book a try. If your marriage is slowly depleting, if you feel that your spouse isn't as responsive or kind to you as before, if you want to make sure that your beautiful marriage stays as loving and as happy as it is now, try this book out. I originally bought this book when my husband and I first got married, and I didn't take it too seriously because... Well I never struggled with the issues the book brought up and I thought I didn't need it. Even though we are still in love, I can say that you get "too comfortable" and may not treat them as nicely as you did when you first got married, but this book keeps you in check and reminds you why you fell in love in the first place. It makes you a bit more grateful for your spouse or loved one. If you feel like you could use a little bit more love in your life and don't have a spouse or boyfriend, this book is good for this as well. Not everything will apply, but it gives great insight. I totally recommend it to everyone. It's not that much and it could save your marriage or relationship.

This Book Saved Our Relationship
The Love Dare is not just a book to us — it truly saved our love and changed the course of our lives. Because of this book, the man who once dared to fight for our relationship is now my husband, and we have been happily married for over 7 years. Our journey with The Love Dare began when we first watched the movie “Fireproof” together while we were still boyfriend and girlfriend. (The movie talks about A dedicated firefighter's marriage is about to end in divorce, but just when hope seems to be running out, his father intervenes with a plan). At the time, we didn’t know how deeply that story would one day impact our own relationship. Like many couples, we went through a very hard season. Our relationship struggled, and we eventually separated. During that time, my boyfriend (who is now my husband) remembered the book mentioned in Fireproof. He searched for The Love Dare and decided to follow it, not as a way to demand love, but as a way to change himself first and learn how to love with patience, humility, and actions. Each day’s challenge may seem simple, but it is incredibly powerful. This book teaches you to love unconditionally, even when emotions are weak or wounds are deep. It focuses on respect, kindness, forgiveness, and choosing love as a daily decision. That journey brought us back together, stronger and more grounded than before. Today, he is my husband, and The Love Dare continues to be something we look back on with gratitude. Even after 7+ years of marriage, the lessons from this book still guide us — especially during challenging moments. This book is not a quick fix, and it’s not always easy. It requires honesty, humility, and commitment. But if both hearts are willing, it can truly transform a relationship. If you are struggling, separated, or simply want to build a stronger foundation for your relationship or marriage, I wholeheartedly recommend watching the movie Fireproof and read The Love Dare. For us, it wasn’t just a book — it was the beginning of a lifelong commitment and a love that chose to endure.
