Bought my second one--the larger size is the one to get!
This is my second purchase. I bought the smaller version about a year ago for myself - I am in my forties, work at a desk most of the day, and my upper back and glutes lock up after long weeks. The smaller one became a daily-use tool fast, so I came back for the larger size specifically to share with my wife and kids, who are not as flexible as I am and were having a hard time positioning the smaller one on their own. We have had the larger version for about six weeks now. I use it four or five times a week - usually pinned against a wall for upper back, on the floor for glutes and IT band. My wife uses it for her shoulders and lower back, and the kids have started rolling out their legs after practice. The larger size is the actual difference-maker here: family members who could not get the small one into the right spot on their own can use this one solo, no help needed. WHAT WORKS - The larger diameter means you can pin it against a wall or floor without having to contort yourself. My wife could not get the small one into position on her shoulders without me helping her - this one she handles solo. - It hits the spots I want it to. Glutes, upper back, IT band, calves, even the arches of the feet. I have not found a soft-tissue area it cannot reach. - Firmness is in the right zone - enough to dig into a knot, not so hard it bruises. Good for first-time users in the household. - Surface grips both skin and the wall. It does not slip out mid-roll, which is what killed my old lacrosse ball. WHAT DOES NOT - No storage bag or sleeve included. For something I would want to throw in a travel weekend bag, that is a miss. - Took me a few sessions to find the right angles for each muscle group. No guide included, so it is trial and error at first. WHO IT IS FOR Anyone who sits a lot, anyone with a tight back or hips, or any household where one person is already into mobility work and wants the rest of the family to actually use it. If you have ever tried a lacrosse or tennis ball and found it too small to position, this is the upgrade.

Quiet, powerful, and easy to use — my go-to for sore muscles
I’ve been using the Theragun Relief for a while now, mostly on my neck, shoulders, and legs, and it’s quickly become something I reach for almost daily. It’s powerful enough to actually loosen tight muscles, but much quieter than I expected, which makes a big difference. The percussion feels strong but controlled, not harsh or rattly. It does a great job on sore shoulders and calves, and I’ve also used it on my lower back and feet without any issues. The handle is comfortable to hold, and the weight feels balanced, so it’s easy to use for longer sessions. I didn’t think I’d care much about the Bluetooth feature, but I actually like it. The app gives simple routines and timing, which helps keep me from overdoing it. That said, it works perfectly fine on its own if you don’t want to use your phone. Battery life has been solid so far. I’m not having to charge it constantly, even with regular use, and it still feels ready whenever I grab it. It also feels well made and sturdy, like something that’s going to last. I honestly don’t have any complaints with this one. It does exactly what I want it to do — effective deep tissue relief without a lot of noise or hassle. If you’re looking for a reliable massage gun that’s strong, quiet, and easy to use, this has been a great purchase for me and is an easy 5-star product.

Therabody Theragun Relief Massage Gun : Review
Compared to other lesser known brands, the Therabody Theragun Relief is the best percussion massage gun I have used. It has a strong and firm oscillation and it's 3 varying speeds are good. I wish it had one more higher oscillation speed but I have no complaints with it's highest speed. The massage heads are high quality compared to other brands I have used in the past as well. They smoothly slide across my muscles and deliver the full force of the percussive motion exactly where it's needed the most. The battery could last longer in my opinion. It lasts long enough for me to finish my massage but if my wife wants a massage right after me the light is already red. I suppose that's either just a side effect of it's strong motor or poor battery choice by Therabody, or I got unlucky with my Theragun. Overall it's probably the best percussive massage gun on the market, hands down.

Lighter but still powerful
This is my second purchase. I love the quiet motor. I can use it late at night in the bedroom eithout waking up my husband. It is not super strong. But it works well. The triangular shaped handle allows me to hold it better. It is not super heavy like the original. I love the original theragun too. Just hold it in -place a bit longer.
