Best leakproof coffee mug
I drink a LOT of coffee everyday (you can preach to me about the health hazards another day), so I have tried my share of drinking vessels. Keeping my coffee in the ideal drinking range (around 135 degrees), for as long as possible, is important to me, as is being fairly spill-proof, and this mug checks both boxes well. I also prefer mugs with handles and this one has a comfortable and sturdy one that doesn't feel like it will break off if dropped (this mug also comes in the cup version without the handle). This mug is also very easy to clean with the lid separating so you can really clean it out. The lid spins open and closed, and when closed, it is 100% leak-proof. I also prefer the lid is wider (has a larger circumference) than most other mugs, and if provides a more comfortable mouth-feel than my other mugs. This is personal preference and you may feel the opposite, but it is one of the factors that makes me gravitate to this mug over the many others I have. The base is a bit narrow but it definitely fits in car cupholders. The base also has a disc of rubber to prevent it from sliding, but I can imagine it is also easier to knock over since it won't slide when bumped. I feel neutral about this feature, but it could be annoying to some. It comes in many colors but I'm not a fan of any of them, preferring the stainless steel "color." Does it keep my coffee hot for a long time? Absolutely, and if the coffee starts out around 190, it may take a while to cool to the point of comfort, but if I forget to drink it, it will become lukewarm after 6+ hours. Pretty much what you would expect for most mugs like this. One nice thing about this mug compared to one of my previous all-time favorite mugs (which was one of the original Nissan Thermos Leak-Proof Travel mugs, also with a spinning lid) is that although the lid on the Leak-Proof Travel mug would vacuum so tightly if you let the coffee cool down to the point I would need pliers to open the lid, that isn't the case with this mug. If you are in the market for a mug like this, you should also consider the Thermos Stainless King Travel Mug. It is in a virtual tie with this mug for my top spot, and is "virtually" as leak-proof with a different mechanism. It isn't as sturdy as this mug, but comes in some brilliant red, raspberry, and copper colors (if you buy the versions sold outside the U.S.)

PERFECT.
This mug is perfect. I use it every morning to keep coffee warmer longer. I've been waiting years for a product that does all 3 of these things: 1) Absolutely WILL NOT LEAK. Fill it with coffee & put it on it's side in a bag or briefcase. It won't spill a drop. 2) Keeps liquid hot (or cold) longer than most, & 3) it's THE most sanitary mug I've ever owned. This last thing is almost impossible to find; Most mugs have a slide mechanism to sip, which (pretty disgustingly) allows for build-up of crud in the tiny grooves. Can't wash that out. Gotta use a toothpick to scrape out the gunk. The other common problem is the rubber gasket which is normally glued to the mug. That retains odors & build-up. Now you have to soak, not wash. This design, however, means none of that: The bottom (the actual mug) is only metal (no gaskets). The top has pops out in 2 pieces, & the gasket pops off of one of those. So 3 parts for speedy, simple washing. I'm 67 & have zero issue with the weight. It def feels solid. The handle is nice. I use in the car all the time, though a version w/o the handle would mean no "negotiating" the handle with the cupholder. I can't recommend this highly enough.

Perfect for someone with tremors!!
My husband has tremors which makes it difficult to drink out of most cups. Push bottons and flip top openings just don't work for him. He has a cup that is over 30 years old that had worked perfectly for him but the handle is about to fall off. For this reason, I've been looking for a cup with a lid that was spill proof yet that he could adjust so he can sip his coffee without burning his mouth. This cup has worked out PERFECTLY! Spill proof, easily adjustable, and the handle is solid. My husband loves it AND it keeps his coffee hot for hours. It is more money that I wanted to spend but it works so well that I will probably buy a second one in the near future to keep as a backup.
