Customer reviews

Best Outdoor Speaker EVER - Period.
I was going camping in the infield of a NASCAR Race with a pile of friends; my old Rocker bluetooth speaker was on it's last legs and ambient noise at this type of venue is SUBSTANTIAL. Researched and decided to pony-up and buy a pair of these Gen 3 Turtlebox thingies because of the advertised volume and the claimed true stereo sound (yeah, right). OMG! You can actually FEEL the quality of these things when you start opening up the box, the packaging, the user manual, the materials of the speaker itself, EVERYTHING had been thought about completely. I charged them up and headed off on a four hour drive to the track. Initially, I was only able to get one speaker to connect to my iPhone. But the sound and volume was AMAZING. I tried and tried to "pair" the other for the stereo experience but just couldn't get it. The next morning I looked up Turtlebox on the innerwebs and found a customer service number. Texas, they open at 10 EST. I call them up, wait for about 30 seconds and BAM a real person from Texas answers! He waited for me to get both speakers turned on and my IPhone ready and walked me through the pairing process in about a minute. Turns out I was pressing the pairing button a bit too long. OK, let's hear this stereo. I put on Manfred Mann's "Blinded By the Light" and was absolutely blown away! Perfect stereo and now double the volume! It's very rarely that I am so impressed with a new purchase. I've worked in manufacturing for nearly 40 years and generally evaluate and critique everything to death (just ask one of my ex-wives). I can't think of any way they could make this product better. Their pricey, yes, but worth every penny. Save up for one if you have to. You won't be disappointed. IMO Turtlebox will go down in history as an iconic brand like Levi's, Harley-Davidson, Ray-Ban, and TAG-Heuer.

Sound brilliant even at low volumes outside
Truly amazing set of outdoor speakers (I bought two). I know you are looking at the price and thinking twice, but for me they have totally been worth it. You get what you pay for, and in this case it is jaw-dropping quality sound, even from just a Pandora stream from my phone while camping. Every single person who has sat around our campfire with these on is blown away by the sound. They always comment, usually multiple times throughout the night, on how the music can sound so good, even at low volume (super important for keeping peace with neighbors). Pairing two is easy. One will pair with your source (my phone), then you pair the second speaker to the first and you are in business - the pair deliver true stereo sound - again, jaw dropping. The battery life is as advertised too. On full charge they will last, at low to moderate volumes (with the occasional full volume) all weekend. I have even gone two weekends on a single charge before. They are fully waterproof, so they have survived heavy dew, splashes of water (we take on our pontoon boat), and outright rain with no problems. Just wipe them down and allow to dry in a safe place. Bluetooth has very decent range too, allowing me to place them anywhere (on the deck, on deck rails, in the grass near the fire pit) with no issues. My phone will lose the connection sometimes when I change Pandora stations, but that's a problem with my phone, not the speakers. Other people have connected with their phones and don't see that same issue. I have not tried the party mode (allowing up to 100 other Turtlebox speakers to simultaneously connect), but that would be one heck of a party. Buy these, you will not be disappointed!

One tough turtle
This is quite a durable speaker. The case is very well built. I bought it for camping trips and music festivals, but find myself using it around the house at times. It has a sturdy handle that can be used to bike lock it to a tree. Keeps honest wooks honest, ya know. 😉✌️ As far as sound quality, it does add substantial EQ curve to the music. It reminds me of the old Bose radio sound. Remember that? This thing is designed to sound loud, even when it's not. It has no problem filling a space and grabbing attention, especially with its hyperactive piezo tweeter. Okay, so it's not Yamaha HS8 studio reference sound. But it's weather proof. Dust proof. Grime proof. The dew doesn't affect it. It doesn't care if someone spills a beer on it. ( Now, I wouldn't throw it into the sea as i see people do on videos. Salt water and electronics is no bueno, and it doesn't deserve that. But hey man, it's your money. Do what thou wilt.) The battery is the real deal. Expect a long weekend out of it with a single charge at moderate volume. All in all, I say it's worth the coin and should last a long time.

Read this Review! What you need to know!!!
What a great product! AS IT SHOULD BE!!! This speaker is great for whatever event that needs a little music. Or a lot in fact! This speaker has great quality in sound and material. Nice and sturdy, also on the heavy side for its size, but still incredibly manageable as it is only around 10lbs or so. I took this speaker on a guys trip into Oklahoma a few months ago, and it lasted the whole trip without a charge. You really are not beating TurtleBox easily. Its compact, durable, easy to use, comes with a charger, and a few stickers. Its compatible to link with other phones and/or one more speaker to play at the same time. I’m happy with my purchase and it was worth the extra expense. I don’t think anyone will find the same value in any speaker under $200’s so why not take a shot with this bad boy.
