TRUE Dolby Atmos for less than $500! 😮
What can I say other than WOW. I am BEYOND impressed with the X40. I've had multiple "surround" systems over the years, I'm talking big name companies, and each of them have required lots of EQ tuning. Not the X40. Set-up is as simple as pulling this thing out of the box, which is probably the best packaging I've ever seen for sound equipment, and plugging the speakers in. For me, this was wall mounting it below the TV for the complete wireless aesthetic, and mounting the rear speakers on the wall behind my couch. Can't forget the woofer, which I just placed off to the side, adjacent the couch. The black with gold trim looks premium, which matches the feel of the devices as well. I'm serious, this thing truly is plug and play! If you're anti-app, the remote control that comes with it can do everything you want it to do. From controlling the Surround volume, Up-Firing volume, Up-mix (creates a surround effect for non surround content), Bass level, EQ presets, everything. I'm an app person, so I downloaded the Ultimea app for control, which has great functionality, unlike many of the other apps I've used with sound equipment. If you're new to home theater equipment / sound bars, a bit of advice would be taking advantage of the HDMI EARC port on the soundbar. It's far superior to the optical port, and makes for seamless control with your TV, utilizing CEC (1 remote controls both TV and soundbar). Most TV's have a dedicated HDMI port for EARC (audio passthrough for speakers), and it's normally HDMI 3, but this can vary, so check your TV. It's normally labeled at the port. Once you've plugged in there, you may have to go into your TV's settings menu and enable EARC, but after that, it's smooth sailing! I would absolutely recommend the X40 to anyone wanting to upgrade their set-up. If you want your room to feel like a theater, you cannot beat this for the price. At less than $500, the X40 has no competitor. I mean you're getting true Dolby Atmos for that price! And if you haven't experienced Atmos before, you have no clue what you're missing...

Excellent value and great performance
Installed in my pool cabana. Exceeded all expectations. Very happy with the quality of this soundbar with wireless sub and wireless surround speakers. Packaging was extremely well done and arrived on time with no defects. Installation took only a few minutes. I literally had it up and running in 5 minutes. The app is very intuitive and provides additional controls including BT. Sound: terrific bass response. Up-firing Atmos speakers work well if the room has an appropriate ceiling to allow for sound redirection. Surround speakers also provide good balance but could improve slightly at lower frequencies. The left and right front speakers on the sound bar itself don’t quite have the spread of a separate system but this is a soundbar so that is to be expected. Center channel speaker provides clear dialogue without any adjustments to audio delay. It perfect right out of the box. Sound parameters can be tweaked with the app’s graphical EQ but the app does lack some precision to make more precise changes. The app also has auto settings for music, movie, etc… but the standard Music setting was not subjectively optimized so I did tweak it to meet my preferences. Overall the X 40 was a superb value and I am completely satisfied with my purchase. So much so that I have recommended it to my friends who were also impressed with the sound quality and functionality. Thank you to the team at Ultimea. I will be purchasing more of your equipment.
