Well Designed, Compact Backpack -- A Great Value
I bought this for occasional use on a local train system, but have ended up using it all the time in place of my briefcase due to it having many more compartments for storing small items, and very good room and padding for my MacBook Pro 13" and iPad Pro 12.9" units. I had looked at a similar Tumi unit, but the value here is pretty hard to beat at about a 65% lower price. I have another Victorinox rolling case that I've used on international trips, and it's held up very well -- I expect similar durability with this backpack, even though it doesn't use a ballistic nylon material like the other bag. I really like the flexibility of having multiple storage pockets, although one design issue that seems common with Victorinox bags is their use of vertical openings on the front storage pockets. If one forgets to zip these back up, I think there is an increased chance of something valuable falling out as opposed to horizontal openings, where gravity is a natural retaining force. It's easy to forget to zip them up because the zipper is somewhat hidden behind a protective flap, and the entire opening is essentially wide open in this scenario. Not a show-stopper by any means, but something that does require some additional care to avoid. All in all, the quality of this bag is excellent for the money, and it's obvious that a lot of care went into the design. It's understated, attractive (I would not hesitate to bring it to a customer meeting), has the back strap for roll-aboard case mounting, and the zippers have a nice, smooth feel to them. My only question: What's with the rather odd screwdriver/bottle opener tool that's permanently attached to the inside of one of the front pockets? If one wanted to use this tool, you'd have to hold the bag right next to what you are working on, which would be awkward to say the least. Overall, this model represents a great value for a quality backpack that I would not hesitate to recommend -- it nicely hits the sweet spot of utility, attractiveness and a very reasonable price. If you're looking at Tumi, you should definitely check this bag out as well.

The winner
After almost one year of searching for a professional laptop backpack and approximately 50 bags later... this is the winner!! Here’s why: 1 - Quality - It can withstand frequent business travel and it’s water resistant. 2 - Warranty - Victorinox speaks for itself. 3 - Professional look - If you hold it vertically by using the top handle, you can fake the briefcase look and wear this backpack with a suit. It’s classic and beautiful. 4 - Comfort - When carried as a backpack it’s comfortable, easy to get on and off your back, it’s soft, the padding is just enough both on the straps and the back portions. 5 - Organization - A must for type A personalities. 6 - Profile - Does not bulk out and is relatively slim looking. 7 - Capacity - At 25 L or so, it’s large and small enough. Plus if you’re a female business traveler and need to consolidate your small purse into your computer bag... it fits, plus you can a sweater, umbrella, snacks, cords, et al. 8 - Sturdiness - Stands up straight when you put it down. 9 - Extras - Zippered pockets on both sides to fit bottles or sunglasses, built in lock for computer/tablet section, keychain loop. 10 - Carry on passthrough sleeve - It’s exactly where it needs to be to prevent the backpack from leaning forward or tipping your carry on spinner.

Slim, compact, and great craftsmanship
I love this backpack. It is perfect for train travel and a daily commute. My old backpack had a lot of depth and would get caught in turnstyles or bump into people. This is so compact that I rarely see these issues. That said, it doesnt store a lot of large items like shoes. You need to choose wisely with your contents. The craftmanship is superb you can tell it is high quality. I keep my items for a long time so I try to buy quality. It appears this is a perfect match. It did come with a cardboard liner that had visual instructions. I couldnt figure out what it was for other than for storage and retail display to make the pack keep its shape. Also the organizer is slick but I dont ever use it and i stead claim more space by leaving it out.

nice bag
Tough materials and plenty of small grids for office props. Soft cushions relieve pressure on the shoulders. And a funny bottle opener. It's pleasant, why not. But a lock should be more practical. Disadvantages: The space is a bit too small. Addendum at 2021/01/31 Today my supervisor needed to attach the screws and the attached gadget worked very well. This impressed him.
