One side is super fluffy, the other is more like velvet. The white is a pure white. I washed the pillows before use, and there was no fraying or shedding. These are soft and beautiful. Love them, so do my dogs. They keep stealing them to rest their heads on. Good quality, have to be careful putting the pillows in, its a tight fit and you can easily pop the zipper. Overall they look great and are very comfortable.
