Pretty much perfect Dutch oven, from somebody who has 3 different ones.

I have 3 different Dutch ovens and this one is clearly the best. I use for sourdough. Some points: - I got the big 7 quart beast and I recommend that. I could make much bigger loaves than I already make. I can't imagine a loaf size you couldn't make. - The bottom is pretty flat and weight sits on the center, so you can set it on a normal sized hot pad. - The cover is domed and the bottom part flat so your not dropping the bread into a deep bowl. It's easy to place on the shallow flat bottom then put the dome lid on top. - The handles on the side are nice so you can turn the lid upside down on a separate hot pad, which also can be normal-sized. You need to hot gloves to handle the thing, but it's worth it. You always need two anyway for dutch ovens of course. - Being long like a loaf of bread is nice because it's shaped like the bread, AND ALSO since it fits long-way within the depth of the oven, you can easily place two of these side-by-side. I could fit 4 of these in my oven. FOUR! - I don't clean it at all, so that's about as easy as it gets. Solid construction. PERFECT design. You even have color options. Best Dutch oven out there, it has to be.

ESSENTIAL FOR MAKING BAKERY QUALITY BREAD!

DO NOT BAKE BREAD WITHOUT THIS DUTCH OVEN!!! LisaMarie's been baking breads for 25 years. Every bread she bakes is better than the last and has been for as long as she been carb-loading me with her heavenly creations. I bought her an inexpensive round Dutch oven from Walmart a few years ago, and she used it regularly. This Christmas, I stepped up the game and bought her a couple of high quality ovens, including this one, and talk about game changers! The enamel is thick and chip proof. It wipes up easily without any scrubbing really needed. This sucker is heavy - she preheats it from when she sets the dough on the counter to rise and it stays hot for an hour after it's out of the oven. It's beautiful to look at the shape and even heating of the cast iron makes for a perfectly crisp and chewy crust and an airy and tender inside. Some of our other high-end cast iron has been in the family for decades, I'm sure we'll be using our Vorringard forever!

SUPER Happy With Vorringard

This was the first time I have purchased a Vorringard product. This bread oven works very well. If I could give it 6 stars I would, I love that it is so easy to use for bread making. It is heavy as you would expect from cast iron, but strong and sturdy. The handle design is great. I do not worry about losing my grip. I wish all pots and pans were designed this way. The color and design are so beautiful you will want to display it. Clean up is easy with a non stick cooking spray. My personal preference is to hand wash and dry this product right after use. Another feature that I love is that I can use it to make two separate loaves of bread or one beautiful crusted sourdough bread. My husband loves how perfectly the sourdough crust looks and tastes.

Perfect Sourdough every time

this enameled cast iron Dutch oven is gorgeous in red and performs wonderfully for sourdough baking. The loaf pan shape gives perfect bread every time, and it works great as a regular Dutch oven or even for meatloaf. The lid fits tightly, heat distribution is even, and cleanup is easy thanks to the enamel. Heavy-duty quality that feels like it will last for years. Highly recommend for home bakers!
