Ok, I went through 2 blankets before landing on this one. I purchased the Eastsora brand but found that the electrical cord and control unit were too short and I had to drape the cord over the top of the bed. I purchased another Westinghouse model blanket and found that it did not heat very well and the material was rather thin. This blanket heats well and the smart control unit is perfect much better than the Eastsora brand and the other Westinghouse model. The smart control unit is on my nightstand and the cord to the blanket is long enough that it easily fits under my bed rather than on top of me as was the case with the Eastsora brand. The material is very plush and cozy. Yes it costs more, but it's worth it. I also liked the camel color. Fits right into my room decor. I will keep this blanket for those cold nights that we occasionally have here in Florida. Love the blanket and highly recommend it if you are looking for an electric blanket.

Most importantly, it actually works! I’ve been using it daily and haven't had any of the technical failures I experienced with the "bargain" brands. The heat distribution is also perfect. It warms up quickly and evenly across the entire blanket, so there are no cold spots. With 6 different heat settings and the auto-off timer, it’s exactly what I was looking for. If you’re tired of thin, flimsy blankets that break after three weeks, do yourself a favor and get this one instead. It is well worth the investment!

I like my blanket so much that it was worth leaving an excellent review. The blanket heats up fast .In less than 5 minutes it makes the bed warm and cozy. I can control the level of heat ( I use the setting 4) . There is also a timer , I set it on 4 so 4 hours later the blanket stops heating. On top of it all the texture of the blanket is cozy , very soft and warm even with the heat off. I'm happy to recommend it . It's a good ''pampering'' blanket.
