Best Electric Blanket Yet
My husband and I have had a number of electric blankets over the years. Our problem has been that after about 5 years, they die. So we were yet again in the market. The company from whom we purchased our previous blankets seemed to have died along with our blankets. Therefore, we needed to start at ground zero in purchasing our next set. As always, we were overwhelmed by choices. We finally decided on the Westinghouse for several reasons. First, the blanket was described as being a bit heavier than others (Sunbeam). While we realize this may not please everyone, we prefer a heavier blanket. (We do live in Chicago.) But having said that, I'd like to point out that we don't feel smothered by it. The top of the blanket is lovely and silky smooth. The underneath is sherpa texture which is warm and cozy. Just great. The sides and the foot of the blanket have no wires and are actually made for tucking in should we wish to do so. This is the first time I've seen an electric blanket designed with a tucking in feature included. Nicely done, Westinghouse. Another new feature for us is that you can set the controls to turn off at a specific number of hours. For instance, I usually want a warm bed to get into but then it gets too warm during the night. With this blanket, I am able to set the controls so that the blanket goes off after, say, 4 hours rather than my actually having to turn it off in the middle of the night. Of course should I want it to stay on during the entire 10 hour cycle, I can set it at that too. Some have criticized the controls as being a bit too bright and you have to get used to where the buttons on the controls are. These are small and temporary inconveniences. One adjusts quickly. Although we have queen-sized beds, we purchased king-sized blankets because we like the extra drape. As I said initially, this is the best electric blanket we've owned after many years of using them. Go for it!

Best find for Dialysis Hubby
This blanket has been a wonderful purchase for our home. I am the wife and I had to make a surprise, but greatly needed purchase for my husband who goes to dialysis three times a week, and since becoming a dialysis patient, one of the side effects is that he is always much colder than everyone & anyone else in the house. I needed something that could keep him warm without turning the heat up and making everyone else uncomfortable. This blanket does exactly that. It is soft, thick, very sturdy, and it gets surprisingly warm. My husband wraps himself up in it almost every day and often ends up falling asleep because it’s so comfortable. The size is also perfect for him. He is 66 inches tall and the blanket is long enough for him to wrap his whole body with extra length past his feet, which he really likes. Another reason we chose this one was the color. Because of dialysis, he wanted something darker so that stains wouldn’t show easily. He is very happy with it and says you really can’t see any spots on it. Overall, this blanket has been a great find. It keeps him warm, it’s comfortable, and it works perfectly for what we needed.

Great warming blanket. Just what I needed.
I must say I have changed my mind about this blanket. After using it for a few days, I find that it is definitely warmer than I originally thought. It is a pretty light grey color on the velour side. The blanket is not as thick as it looks here. It is very soft though. The heating coils do not run the full width of the blanket. Eash side has a few inches without coils. That is fine S it really does not need to be edge to edge. More than enough heat space. I love that you set it to be on from 1 hour to 12 hours. Heat settings from L to H (or 1 to 10) giving a wide range of comfort levels. The cord is nice and long and the remote is made to get able to sit on a night stand. I really like this blanket as it is just what I needed for my post surgery sleeping in a recliner.

Does well what it is advertised to do!
Well made, soft and supple with good 2 zone heating distribution. 10 heating levels for plenty of heat options. Fits well on a queen size bed and looks good. I would purchase it again.
