Not Entirely Squirrel-Proof
Update: 3/19/20 I originally gave this product 5 stars, then changed it to 3. Now I'm changing it back to 5. Nature's Hangout reached out to me after reading my review and offered to replace the item. I agreed to give it another chance. I'm extremely impressed with their customer service and how committed they were to making me happy. They promptly sent out a replacement then followed up again to make sure I was satisfied. Which I am. While the overall product is the same, and my experiences which led me to reduce my rating still apply, I now realize that I can't really fault the product itself for my misfortunes. And I admit I have no advice on how the overall strength and durability can be improved. However, I have taken steps to preserve my window feeder and keep squirrels away from it. Unfortunately, my plan to just use safflower seed failed as the squirrels were more than happy to eat it. So, I now ONLY use nyjer seed. Squirrels are not interested in it at all. The downside to this though is that it severely limits the types of birds that will eat it, and around here it's typically finches and mourning doves. I miss seeing the cardinals at my window, but I can still see them on my pole feeders protected by squirrel baffles. But now that the squirrels aren't interested in this window feeder, it hasn't fallen or broken at all. After a lengthy experience now with this feeder, my best advice is to 1) make sure you clean the window before attaching this, it'll help the feeder stay suctioned if there's no dirt and 2) try placing this feeder above a soft ground surface to minimize risk of breakage if it falls and 3) I strongly advise using seed that squirrels don't like as this feeder isn't strong enough to support their weight. One squirrel likely won't cause it to fall, but two squirrels is just too much weight. Update: 10/27/19 Changing my review from 5 stars to 3. After 7 months or so of having this up on my window, it has fallen down a few times on its own. It cracked the first time but was still usable. The second time it fell a couple of pieces actually broke off, but again it was still usable. Now it has fallen a third time and it has completely broken apart. I just don't know if the price justifies buying another one after less than a year of use. I wish this item was more durable because I really did enjoy it while it lasted. Original Review March 2019: I'm giving this product five stars because it's sturdy, suction cups are strong, and appears to be a great window bird feeder. However, in my case it has only served as a squirrel feeder. I didn't think squirrels would be able to get to it, but how naive I was. I put it high up on a window with no bushes or other jumping points for squirrels, but they were pretty determined. And when there's a will, there's a way. After several failed attempts to climb the glass, they figured out how to climb the sides of the window to access the seeds. At one point there were two squirrels on it fighting over who gets the treasure. The bird feeder was strong enough to support the weight of two squirrels, but it did end up tipping on its side. I can't fault the feeder itself though, as I could put any feeder on the window and have the same issue. It's just a shame that I can't use it for its intended purpose.

Great bird feeder!
I bought this feeder for the bay window in our living room which is elevated about 8 feet from the ground. We've tried numerous supposedly squirrel proof feeders in the past with limited luck. So far (in 3 months) we have not had any squirrels at all on this feeder! We see them busy gathering acorns in the yard, but they haven't even attempted to reach this feeder. And may it continue! There are also no bushes or trees nearby that they can launch themselves from. As indicated by others in the reviews, it did take about 4 weeks or so for birds to start coming to it, but once they did, it became "bird central"! So much so, that we purchased the other clear bird feeder that looks like a little house. Now we have birds going to both feeders. It's wonderful to see them so close, especially the cardinals and other colorful species! I wrapped jute string around the perch bar of the second one we purchased (the little house looking one) since that model doesn't have the black grip strip for perching that this one does. It was cheap and easy to do and looks great. Both this and the other feeder are easy to refill with seed and also to clean (have only had to clean this one once so far - birds do sometimes poop where they eat!) and the suction cups work great - very strong. Here's a tip I was given from a bird enthusiast for strong adherence of the suction cups: once you've properly cleaned the glass with window cleaner where you've decided to put the feeder up, rub each suction cup on the end of your nose before pressing it into the glass. Sounds funny, I know, but the oils on your nose will make the suction cups have a very strong seal. Works like a dream! Haven't had any slippage or similar even with two birds perched at once. I do highly recommend this feeder!

Cat TV!
I would give this higher than a 5 star rating if I could. I have officially become a crazy bird lady since purchasing the Window Bird Feeder by Nature’s Hangout! I recently moved into a townhome with a small backyard that backs up to some big trees. My two cats have been glued to the windows watching outside, so I knew I had to add a bird feeder aka cat tv. I know it’s not the ideal setup for the birds (the fence is solid so it’s not easy for them to see), but we’ve had quite a bit of activity since adding it so I’m super happy about that. I do spread out some seed on the top of my fence to entice them over. I even pull out the bird identifier pamphlet that was included to try to identify the birds in the backyard (lots of cardinals!) My cats are absolutely glued to watching the birds, and I know the birds can feast safely on the other side of the glass. It was super easy to hang, super easy to refill, and hasn’t budged since I first installed it. Buy it and join the crazy bird lady side!

Works well!!
❤️ this!! I can finally enjoy doing the dishes while peeking out the window. Checking out the traffic lol. Mostly get chickadees and the finches, woodpecker, cardinal+ a couple other species I need to confirm.. No issues at all with it. I enjoy the longer length as on the odd occasion you'll see 2 (I got to see 2 cardinals 🥊 as they both landed at the same time but didn't want to share the food 😂) suction cups work and HAPPY with it so far!! IMPORTANT: when you first install it, out a small Bluetooth speaker outside. I played a YouTube Video of chickadee calls but I vary the calls and select birds you want to attract to your feeder!! I am getting endless of hours watching these sweethearts feed from the window + NO ANNOYING SQUIRRELS 🐿️ 🐿️ ❤️.
