Narrow but perfect for readers
When I opened the box I thought for sure I was going to return it. The light part was insanely small compared to the pictures which made it seem much larger. I didn't even take the plastic off while screwing the poles together, thats how sure I was it was going back. But I wanted to give it a shot still because there's isnt a great selection available in stores near me of what I'm looking for, especially at a decent price. I was blown away and pleasantly surprised to be proven wrong. I wanted a lamp for our bedroom, mainly to read but also because our overhead light is too bright and harsh. I wanted something more lowkey, easy to read but also provide a little light at night. The lamp feels a little short. I'm 5'4" and its maybe a handful of inches taller than me with the gooseneck standing straight up. So while this makes for an ideal reading lamp, for a bed or armchair. It feels awkward in a space as a standing lamp. But for my purposes, mostly laying down, it works. But something to be aware of, the advertising pictures definitely made the lamp seem larger than it is. I love how flexible the lighting is, you can adjust the brightness, how white or warm it appears. It suits my different needs, brighter whiter light while reading, but a warmer lower light when we're just hanging out. The remote is a nice touch, especially since I have it a bit too far away from the bed to utilize the touch motions (on the pole) to turn on & off the lamp. The lamp "face" is really small in person, it's deceptively much narrower than it appears in pictures. Like maybe 2 inches wide? 2.5" at most if you include the black plastic framing. But it somehow managed to still give off enough light. Our bedroom is a pretty standard size, fits a king bed with a dresser and a couple bookshelves. And while it doesnt suitably light up the whole room on it ls own, it does provide enough light for my half of the room. Which is all I need it for. If I wanted this to be our only light source for the room instead of using the overhead light at all, I would definitely need 2 to balance out the lighting. But it is sufficiently bright with enough options and flexibility for my needs. The gooseneck also provides nice flexibility and further options, bent over while I read, or standing straight up to light up more of the space. For the price I paid, I think it's a bargain of a lamp. It was also incredibly easy to put together. I used to work at Homegoods, and have built probably over a thousand lamps, table & standing, in my lifetime. This one was 100% the easiest to build. The poles threaded flawlessly and the cord had no issues being pulled through. Normally the cord is rigid and loves to fight & resist in standing lamps. Highly recommend, especially for readers.
