Privacy Policy

The short version

• You do not need an account to use Buyyyah, and we do not ask you to sign up or log in.
• We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show third-party advertising on the Site.
• We do not process payments. When you choose to buy something, you complete the purchase on Amazon, not on Buyyyah.
• We use Google Analytics to understand how the Site is used, and we earn commissions through the Amazon Associates Program.

Information we collect

Buyyyah does not require you to create an account or submit personal details such as your name or email address to browse and use the Site. The information we do handle falls into two categories:

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, when you visit Buyyyah our hosting infrastructure and analytics tools automatically receive standard technical information, including your device type, browser type, approximate location (derived from your IP address), the pages you view, the gift filters you select (such as occasion, relationship, and price tier), referring pages, and the dates and times of your visits. This information is used in aggregate to keep the Site working and to improve our recommendations.

Choices you provide

When you use the gift filters, your selections (for example, "birthday", "partner", or a price range) are processed to generate recommendations. These are gift preferences, not sensitive personal data, and we do not link them to your identity.

Cookies and analytics

Buyyyah uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use the Site so we can improve it. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects usage data such as page views, session duration, and general location. This data is processed by Google in accordance with its own privacy policy. We use it only in aggregate and do not attempt to identify individual visitors.

You can control or block cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Blocking analytics cookies does not affect your ability to use Buyyyah.

Affiliate links and Amazon

Buyyyah is a participant in the Amazon Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program. Product links on the Site are affiliate links: when you click one, you are taken to Amazon, and if you make a qualifying purchase, Buyyyah may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Once you leave Buyyyah and arrive on Amazon, you are subject to Amazon's own privacy policy and terms, and any information you provide during checkout (such as payment and shipping details) is collected by Amazon, not by Buyyyah. How we use information

We use the limited information described above to:

• operate, maintain, and secure the Site;
• generate and improve gift recommendations and curated collections;
• understand aggregate usage trends and measure the performance of our content; and
• comply with legal obligations and prevent misuse or abuse of the Site.

How we share information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share limited information only with the service providers that help us run the Site, namely:

• Google Analytics — website analytics and usage measurement.
• Supabase — database and backend infrastructure that powers our product catalog and recommendations.
• Our hosting provider — to serve the Site to your browser.
• Amazon — when you click an affiliate link and are redirected to Amazon's website.

We may also disclose information if required to do so by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Buyyyah, our users, or the public.

Data retention

Aggregate analytics data is retained for as long as it is useful for understanding and improving the Site, subject to the retention settings of our analytics provider. We do not maintain individual user profiles or accounts.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information under laws such as the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), or the Philippine Data Privacy Act. These can include the right to access, correct, or delete information we hold about you, and the right to object to certain processing. Because Buyyyah does not require accounts and does not maintain personally identifying profiles, the information we can associate with any individual is very limited. Children's privacy

Buyyyah is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to address it.

International visitors

Buyyyah is operated as an individual project and may be accessed from around the world. Our service providers (including Google and Supabase) may process and store data in countries other than your own. By using the Site, you understand that your information may be processed in those locations.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be reflected here, and your continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
